Very nice, I've had my eye on that for a few months now. I will be anxiously awaiting your review.

First impressions after 3 hours are excellent. It has 3 power settings, 50w, 25w and 0.5w which will easily cover anything I might need it for. The 0.5w is perfect for living room playing. It sounds and feels like a tube amp and is very versatile with options for anything between acoustic and metal. I'm particularly enjoying the blues sounds and it does a mean Angus Young too :)

This is way better than my little Blackstar in my opinion and most certainly a keeper. I'm not quite sure if it will totally replace my beloved PODxt yet but it might :)

Nice! That looks like a versatile amp! I like that it has the different power settings.

Sometimes its hard to get a decent sound at lower levels :)

Enjoy!! :)

It sounds like you got yourself a great little amp, very versatile and to top it all off at a reasonable price. Congrats Ice! ? Out of curiosity I’ve just viewed a short demo of the Katana series. I’m not in the market for another amp, but others may be.

Sweet Ice9. Glad you got one . I figured you would have went 100 watt. My 50 is great too . Play it every day. The red reverb is great . Have you did your down loads . I have but have not tried the tube screamer yet. You can Play with this amp for weeks. and still not hit all it does . Hope you enjoy it and post updates on how you like it. Or Not like it. Record some stuff. Try out the acoustic setting. it great . If you acoustic guitar has low feedback you can use all setting even Brown sound that pretty cool. Good Luck

Ahh! Nothing like that New Amp Smell!  Congrats.

I've been intruiged by these amps since they were introduced and I've seen nothing but positive reviews of them.

My grand-nephew is taking guitar lessons and will probably be ready to step up from his small Line 6 in the not too distant future.  If you continue to post glowing comments, I may get one for him.

After spending a lot longer trying it out I continue to be very impressed with it. The tones are extraordinary for a solid state amp. It really does feel and sound like it has tubes in it. I'll see if I can get a small video done over the next few days.

The amp does have limitations. On this 50w version you can only store 4 "patches" on board at one time and there's a limit to only 3 effects at any one time out of the 55 built in boss effects. This is fine for me as I tend to stick with just a few sounds but it might prove limiting for some. According to Andertons, it does however take pedals very well so that would be a way around this restriction. The built in effects, being BOSS are excellent of course.

Also as Blue Dog mentioned, the acoustic amp is great so it would be a great choice for someone that wants an amp that does more or less everything.

For the price I can't see how anything can beat this at the moment. I'll update more when I get more used to it.

Boss Katana  links Downloads.

You are suppose to be able to down load the Gt 100 pedal board to creat patches . but I have not been able to get it to work.

Congrats Ice. I confess to moving digital myself over the last year with a Kemper and Fractal Ax8 occupying most of my time lately  though I continue to fool around with my tube amps. Because of what my band plays , which is a variety of styles , I have had a hard time getting a pedal board designed to cover all tones with tubes....hence the digital alternative. Boss does make nice stuff and this amp is no exception, I am sure. Enjoy

I'm looking for an inexpensive amp I can use in church and just leave there rather than carrying it to/from home. This looks like it may be a really good option, especially since it's for both electric and acoustic.

I reckon it would be perfect for that.

Helpful Tip If you use the amp recorded your setting some how so you can jump from acoustic to electric, Take a picture are something so you can change quickly. Even if you use the channels and a pedal.

Right, I was thinking of writing the settings on an index card and taping it to the top of the amp.

Probably should have tuned his guitar before that chord @ 3:42!

Some great rock tones in there.  Sheesh, I just looked up the price.  What a great value, too!  Congrats!

I took a leap of faith and made a quick trip to Guitar Center over lunch and picked up one of these. Very anxious to try it out, but I probably won't get to until Saturday.

I think you're going to enjoy it. The more I play mine the more impressed I get.

I would recommend that you download the Boss Tone studio app and have a look at some of the presets in the library there as they make a great starting point for tweaking to your liking.

Cool Mike. Keep us update on your likes and don't likes. I don't think you will have any dislikes. But if so tell us and we will see if we can work them out. Have fun . If you use the tone central  app and you turn any knobs it will go back to the amp set preset. I have not program any preset yet. I like the sneaky amps a lot you have to import them to your library. same with tone central has to be imported. Good Luck.

I'm very impressed. I doubt I'll download any presets, at least not for a while. For my purposes, this thing has plenty of options built in. I dialed in a nice, slightly boosted clean tone with a little reverb and saved it to channel 1, and saved settings I like for an acoustic tone to channel 2. That's probably all I'll ever need playing in church. I can't believe how good this thing sounds, especially for the price. Very pleased.
