Ah, great... thanks!

Attending a GG, visiting Nashville and visiting Memphis are all on my bucket list. Maybe 2019 will be the year it happens!

I am registered for yet another Gathering!! Can't wait till June!!

Will have to decide whether to fly or drive this time though.  It will be a 2 day drive for sure this time, so I will have to weigh out the options!

It should be, "But I didn't get to go last year" B|

Looking forward to it!

Regarding the on-campus accomodations for those who choose that route, will they be the same as last year? Will they be available for the whole conference? Just wondering if I need to book a room for any nights - hotels can get expensive in Nashville :)

I will be returning this year, Ian. Missed last year (my wife had surgery, had to cancel) but made it there the previous 2 years. It is a wonderful experience if the opportunity ever comes up for you , and the Nashville area is vital, breathing musical mecca for people like us who thrive on live music. Happy holidays, friend!

Colder,

Yes, they will be the same as last year and they will be available the entire length of the conference.

I'm thinking about staying on campus... Are the rooms singles or do you share?

Barb; I have not been, but I recall reading the dorm rooms are double (shared). Clean but very simple ...I believe you'd be paired up with another lady if you havent arranged this yourself with another attendee.

Barb - I believe Neil is correct - shared rooms (and bathrooms) ?

I used Hilton points last year and got my room cost down to $80 a night, so that made my decision easy.

I have not decided where to stay this year.

The doom rooms are typical dorm rooms - two beds in each room and an attached bathroom which is shared with the adjoining room. There is a sink and a mirror in each room. There was also some basic dorm furniture like dressers, a desk and a chair, twin size bed, and a closet. They provide bedding, but if you're particular about it you might want to bring a blanket and a pillow with you.

I think last year there was enough space so that everyone had their own room, but I'm not sure how it will work out this coming year.

Last year the ladies were all on their own floor, with the men on a different floor.

Mike, if we follow the pattern of the last two years, things will begin unofficially at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, June 11 with early registration and a meet and greet. We adjourned around 5:00 to head into town for dinner and shows on our own. You can expect official opening at 8:00 am Wednesday for registration, and the program starting at 9:00 am. Hope to see you there!

I've registered for the summer event.  I've never been.  In fact, I've rarely been out of my home studio to play.  I've been working through the Learn and Master Guitar course that Steve put together and I'm on the Jazz lesson.  I've been working on it for a bit over 2 years.  I am really nervous.  I still consider myself a beginner, but I think that this conference will help me to get out of my shell....even if I do suck....hahaha!!!  I'm pretty excited!

Great news Curtis. There's no need to be nervous, I'm sure there'll be all levels there and the folks will be great and supportive.

Curtis - You won't regret it - you will have a blast. Pick out a seat up front, learn as much as you can, and meet as many fellow players as you can. The folks on this forum are even nicer in person!

Looking forward to seeing you in June!
