  1. Hmm not to get in a debate, but I see many of these issues on the Gibson forums from players and yes one is a tree issue..: quote " I ordered my new Les Paul and it finally arrived only to find out, after unpacking it that it had a dark spot in the wood the size of a dime on the flame maple top and the body binding had a big curve in it clearly exposing the paint seam, as if someone came along while the person was applying the binding and bumped their arm.I can't believe their doing this again it's the mid to late 90's and early 2000's all over again, even the guy's at the guitar store said " Wow I can't believe this was allowed to leave the factory ", and that's their own suppliers talking, luckily I was able to exchange it for another one from the stores distribution center. Now you might say that I could've got a rare bad egg out of thousands, but this also happened over a month ago when I ordered an ES-335 and it showed up new in box, and it had an indentation in the wood on the neck..I'm just one person and it happened to me twice in less than two months time.
  2. Well said Neil.. also need to revamp the pricing and in line with guitar companies who also make quality products at a more reasonable price dollar for dollar.
  3. all I can say is wow.. how nice that you do this for all... who could not attend and be part of the journey.. Thank You.. very encouraging!
  4. wow Cap she is a beauty.. love it. I have an Epi SG, 400 Pro, bought as a fluke from Sweetwater and turns out I love it. Let us know about the GForce Tuners. I have heard mixed reviews.. Congrats she is really nice!
  5. Randy really nice informative videos.. Thanks.. also for those who have really dry winters, don't discount plastic soap dishes, many holes placed in top, place clean sponge and damp sponge inside soap container with distilled water. I place the guitars in the case for this one. Seems to also work better than some of the humdi pack solutions on the market at a very reasonable cost. I also keep a tear drop and Vicks humidifier in the room during a dry winter with a LED gauge on Temperature and Humidity. Good luck all as winter is around the corner.. I know time to head south to Florida.. we do and visit my daughter and the grandkids whenever possible.
  6. what was the old saying.. one small step for mankind.. or was that for guitar playing.. Everyday is a win! Breaks of any kind are bad as we age..
  7. and as BB King told ZZ Top.. "use lighter strings and stop working so hard" His quote has always stuck with me and works.

  16. My favorite in my collection is a Takamine EAN 40C ( Solid cedar tops, solid mahogany backs, a thin satin finish and no pickguard) that an old time forum poster turned many of us onto as they were being closed out at MF. I also have a 20 plus year Washburn D-10 that plays fantastic. I also purchased a Fender CD 60 SCE. I use that for my travel guitar and bought it a ridiculous price at SW being a demo but looks like new. Maybe one day a Taylor or Martin or maybe even a Collins

  21. So I was just flipping through some music videos and concerts on AXSTV. Watched Cheap Trick, and saw the lead singer and guitar player had what looked like a 12 string tele type guitar. The tuners were on both sides of the headstock. I have never seen this type Tele before does anyone know what it was? Thanks in advance
