I enjoyed your improvisation @Wim VD1, especially the double stops beginning at roughly the 1:44 mark.

@Randy120 nice job on the CCR tune.  That one brings back memories -- you and I must be contemporaries.  Your vocals were excellent.

Doug, 

Please don't. There will always be someone we think has better skills than each of us. Try to be inspired by them and judge your own progress against where you used to be.

I do think that documenting current ability through this monthly thread is a great way to improve... through the support and encouragement of the community and simply through practice. The improvement I've seen in some of the regular posters has been staggering.

I have to agree with everything Ian said about the challenge. The real challenge is getting the courage to record something. The process if repeated will absolutely help you improve. We are here to encourage you; not beat you down.

I have been jamming along with a lot of YouTube videos. I have played the CCR tunes for the last year. I jam with John Fogerty on "Who'll Stop the Rain" then follow that with CCR "Bad Moon Rising". Having fun!

Awwww Doug you did miss me this month!

I usually do a superb job of bringing the standard down?.

I was going to prepare something but I got ill and then my hubby got ill too. We are both back up to normal (well normal for us?) so I hope to be able to assault everyone's ears in the November Challenge.

This has been my experience also, I sometimes even ask for comments to help me improve and have always received positive feedback. That is why I fought the technology problems to get back on this forum. You guys have helped me in a massive way!

@Eracer_Team-DougH I have been doing the Challenge for years now. I recorded at least 40 songs. As I look back I always think I could do better. The skills build over time. You do your best and learn over time. You start with simple stuff and learn as you go. Work on 1 or 2 songs that you really enjoy playing. Have fun and don't hold back!
