  1. Definitely! If you haven't gotten a metronome yet, DO IT! One of the smartest investments you'll make towards improving your timing (and playing). There are lot's of ways to get one. There are, of course, stand alone ones. I have the Planet Waves One, less than $10.. There is also the Online Metronome. But the one I use the most is the app for my phone, Mobile Metronome Pro. As you can see, mine is called Pro and I vaguely remember paying a couple bucks for it, probably to get rid of the ads. But there is a free version. There are others. Yes, you will be in Session 4 for a while. What you will find is the Bonus materials are as "beefy", if not more so, than the regular. Good luck to you!
  2. I had completely forgotten about that song from back then. Thanks @DianeB and @John Wells
  3. Very cool story Jampot! Thanks for sharing that. Sound like it was fun.
  4. Yep, me as well. I downloaded some of the Skills House Lessons. I wish I had grabbed more. For those of you that don't know Mr. Roth suffered quite a horrible tragedy and, as I understand it, actually quit playing guitar for quite a while: Moving Forward In Grief Through Music.
  5. What fun @Old Guy,!! Please keep us up-to-date on your progress on this. I am one of those guys Neil mentioned that has thought about doing this. (Very briefly thought about it!?
  6. Pacific time?!?!? When did you move again? Did I miss this? (Obviously, I did?)
  7. Thanks, Dave. As a follow up. Here is Marty Schwartz interviewing Ed King and seeing him play some of the guitars. Somethng I never knew was that Ed King was a member of the Strawberry Alarm Clock.
  8. Welcome, @ozy. I will second DougH's comment. That site you linked is our "old" home and there are few of us (probably none!) that frequent it any more. All of us from there have migrated of here now to follow Steve. Best of luck in your guitar learning journey. Please keep us up to date with your progress.
  9. Danny, I don't know how I missed this original post at the 1st of the month. Congratulations on one very remarkable accomplishment. You are among a very few that can say they have done this. And thank you for all your very positive contributions to this forum while you completed L&MG.
  10. Congrats, but you know the rules, don't you? Let's see those pictures.
  11. @Dan Brown are you going to take it with and use it when Joe B calls you to come on stage and jam with him on the cruise?
  12. Amy, you are very welcome and thanks for sharing your video and joining us here at Guitar Gathering. That is great playing and I am very envious. If you look at my sig, Session 10, Fingerstyle is the only session that I have thrown in the towel on. I will go back before too long and give it another try before long. But for now I will remaain especially envious of your playing.
  13. Hi Amy, I converted your video file to an audio file and sent that to you as an attachment to a pm. I use WinX HD Video Converter Plus to convert files. Simple and Cheap. But I don't know if it is available on Mac. I use Windows. Ron ps. I went back and looked and it is cross platform (Windows and Mac)
  14. So @Eracer_Team-DougH, @K9kaos, and @Popeye give me some more specific ideas on this. I make no promises. But what features? Do we want to come up with a list of features and then a quick video "how-to" of each? Or one overall introductory video that is available to all but might be especially helpful to each new member? What other thoughts do you have on this? I have "screen grab" software that should make the process not too difficult or daunting. As always it's a matter of time availability. But I'd like some more focused suggestions.
  15. Ben @bwillard summed up the history succinctly. Learn and Master Guitar, along with all the L&M courses, painting, photography, etc., is owned by Legacy Learning Systems. Legacy is owned by a Gabriel Smith in Nashville. If you look back at the traffic on the Learn and Master forum the traffic was entirely us guitar folks. We were the only ones supporting the forum. This does not suggest any relative support among the different courses in terms of sales, just forum numbers. The other forums would go months without a post. Towards the end the spam was getting progressively worse, to the point we could not keep up with it. And there were the security issues @Nutty 1 described. In the face of this these problems Legacy seemed to show little interest in committing any resources to resolving them. Fortunately, our leader decided to make a break and so here we are. Bob, I'm glad you made it over here. I think just about everyone has. Except one! There is one guy that keeps posting over at L&MG. He never gets a response and I have gone over there repeatedly and encouraged him to sign up here but he doesn't! I guess he enjoys his time with the spammers!!!!!??? I would add intelligent, handsome administrators. ?
  16. Not directed at anyone in particular, but!!!!!
  17. Sandy, great to have you back here and every bit as glad to hear your positive comments. But I disagree in that you have already contributed many useful comments and suggestions in your "short Journey". I know for a fact because I have seen them. I hope you continue to do so. Steve, Neil and I will continue to do what we can to keep it Civil for you and everyone else on here.
  18. At least according to Music Radar. This is the type of thread that can jump the tracks. So Play Nice! Everyone on here usually does. But what do you think? Jack White?!?! Seriously #11? Who is Xavier Amin Dphrepaulezz (Fantastic Negrito) #13!?!?!? Kirk Fletcher? Definitely Eric Gales? Yep. 13 Best Blues Guitarists in the World! Go!
  19. Thanks for this, @Bob63047. I am always looking for this part with the list of keys by number of sharps. I printed this out and put in the first part of my practice binder.
  20. And I ditto @Dan Brown dittoing @Texaspackerfan! Excellent idea @NeilES335! We should have had this available as a thread long befor now. Thanks, Neil
  21. Popeye, my Strat is a 2012 American Standard with those fat 50`s. A lot of fun. Enjoy yours for a long time.
  22. OMG, does that take me back, Diane! How many Gram stains listening to Riders on the Storm/Doors?! How many protein electrophoresis studies with Santana and Soul Sacrifice? How many arterial blood gases......Well, you get the idea?
  23. So then it is safe to assume we will be hearing lots of your great recordings here very soon?
