This month's theme comes to us from @V7#5b9

Theme: “Play Me Some Blues!”

Description: Acoustic or electric guitar, standard form or variation, minimum one chorus of rhythm, lead, or both. Use a jam track or collaborate with someone. Make it simple and use licks you’ve learned, or get as creative as you like! Above all, have fun!

*** For less experienced players:  If you think it may be a deterrent and newbies are less likely to participate, just go with an “Open Mic” theme.

Deadline: 11:59 PM PST  March 31, 2018

1.  @Wim VD - "Baby Elephant Walk"

2. @mark_h - "Stormy Monday"

3.  @Randy120 - "San Francisco Bay Blues"

------------------< RULES >-------------------------
SUBMITTING: To complete the challenge, record an eligible song and reply to this thread with your your direct-linked or embedded track (Soundcloud's great) before the end of the month.

GUITAR REQUIREMENT: You must play at least one real guitar track heard in the mix.

GEAR: All content must be recorded with your home studio equipment. You may use BIAB or loops as long as you play the majority of the song with your real guitar. This is a guitar playing challenge not a sampling/recording challenge so keep that in mind.

TIME: A recording made at any time before the entry deadline counts, but do not enter a recording in more than one challenge.

ONE ENTRY per person or collaboration. But, I doubt anybody will complain if you want to share another on-theme track too.

NEXT THEME: The person to choose next month's theme will be chosen randomly from those who complete this challenge.
-----------------------------------------------------

Have fun, try something new, and give us something to listen to!

I learned and recorded Baby Elephant Walk about one year ago when I was in Session 13. It's a song from the L&M Song Hits course.

Thanks, Greg and Ian.

Baby Elephant Walk is nothing like Texas, Delta or Chicago blues, although it uses the 12 bar blues format.

Oh how I am tempted @Wim VD but I am trying to rest my fingers with the hope of getting rid of my trigger finger. It has only been about a week now since I last played a guitar but it feels like much longer.  ?

My wife and I have both been ill this month and the weather here has been nonstop rain and storms so the internet has been down more often then up. I didn’t intend to submit anything this month but my tonewoodamp arrived and I thought I’d just record my first play with it. Apologies for my unkempt appearance I was just out of my sick bed. ? i normally play the changes into a looper and then play the melody over the top but I couldn’t find the energy to connect the looper. Sorry. Then tonewoodamp was used as an effects pedal and a di, just a 1/4 inch cable to the apogee and recorded to camera on the iPad.

Thanks Steve. I’m looking forward to playing around with it when I feel a bit better. But I already like how easy it is to use.

@mark_h Great fingerstyle playing, Mark. I like this kind of arrangements where you play both chords and melody.

Get well soon, Wim.

Great challenge @V7#5b9, especaially like the "Above all, have fun!" part.  No doubt these guys did.:)

@Wim VD - "Baby Elephant Walk" .  Sounded Great Wim VD.  Thats the perfect title for that sound.  Nice job!

@mark_h - "Stormy Monday"   Even on your sick days you sound awesome Mark.   I love the sound of the new tone from your Tonewoodamp.  Cool jazzy blues sound.  It doesn't look like the Tonewoodamp (Mounted to back of guitar) gets in your way when playing.

Been a busy work month or two for me.    Hoping to jump back in the challenge next month.  I've been working on a few songs that I need to sit down and get recorded.  Thanks for all who have been posting to the challenge here.  You've all been an encouragement to keep playing daily.  Thanks.
