  3. Gotta go with classic Delta Blues on this one. Not only for the music itself, but also because if forms that basis for most Classic Rock like Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones and countless others.

  4. Steve has often mentioned Coffee Break Grooves Backing Tracks. They are great. I have all their blues albums. They have 5 free ones on YouTube:

  7. I posted this link on FB but wanted to share it here. There is the usual "rambling" in such videos; but the 2 & 4 beat concept looks interesting and worth a try. Enjoy! https://www.facebook.com/groups/GuitarGathering2018/permalink/139897820039665/

  9. So in the new forum I can't display a list of my guitars (too long for the signature) so I created a website for my guitars. You can click on the My Guitars link below in my signature. It is a work in progress and I'm missing quite a few pictures. It was a fun little project to work on. I showed my wife last night and she was impressed that she was mentioned so many times. She even sent a link to one of her co-workers. Is that license to get another one? Let me know if you see any errors. Ben

  12. Boy this thread really took off! Glad you guys liked it. In case you didnt know.... see the attach area lower left? You can upload the mp3 or .wav file there up so others can download it, rather than play live with YouTube. SoundCloud works well too. Enjoy.

  15. So, Blue Dog I guess I should answer your question. What kind of Blues do I like? I love Chicago. I love Blues. So it follows my favorite Blues should be the Chicago variety, correct? I do really like Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, Mike Bloomfield, etc. But my blues taste run towards the Texas variety.

  16. I adjust the pickup height in all of my guitars when I purchase them. I also adjust the individual pole pieces to match the radius of the fret board. I know you can't adjust pole pieces on the mini humbuckers but you can adjust them to factory specs at the high and low E strings. Ben

  17. Every month Guitar Techniques magazine has 4 free jam tracks. They are produced by Jacob Quistgaard. He has his backing tracks available on YT. What's interesting about his is that most of them start at about a minute. During that first minute someone is soloing and there is a link to the solo lesson and tabs. Also, it takes a little looking, but most of his backing tracks come with chord charts: Here is his website where he offers his jam tracks for sale. But he has quite a few free ones there: Quistorama Jam Tracks

  20. Yesterday I ordered a CD of Louis Jordan, His blues was defined as Jump Blues, a combination of blues and some brass from a big band. Among his best known songs is CHoo Choo Ch'Boogie:

  22. There is also another pattern that can help with the memorization of scales: If you look at G for example, the sharp is F. But looking at Gb, the F is the only note not flatted, so it is the opposite. Same is true for all of the other sharp vs flat scales (except the C# and Cb). For F, the B is flat, but F# the B is the only one not sharp.... etc. So if you memorize one, the opposite is easy to remember too Once you see the pattern it is hard to 'not' see it!
