  1. YGG.. that was great made me and my wife laugh out loud .. How right you are!
  2. Thanks Ozy.. also look at some of Hal Leonard easy guitar books with song and CD's . Something I add to my collection.
  3. Just thought of another incident in Nashville, we also HAD to make a stop at Gruhns where everyone knew him. Down the street not far is Carters Guitars.. I was like a kid in a candy store.. so little time but so much to choose and drool over.
  4. Welcome OZY.. oh yes here a long time. Steve is the real deal. How do I know, while visiting Nashville area for a weekend , we stopped in a music store just outside of Nashville, I think it was Franklin. We just happened to park down a street with a small music shop that looked like a converted home. As I was buying a music book for my new Congas, I began to tell the clerk in the store about my music journey and using Steve's system and how great it was. She smiled and told us Steve had worked at her other store as a music teacher. She had nothing but high praises for him. Yes Steve is real and has shown his students answering questions when he can along with his live lessons.
  5. I really never thought about using one but now you have my ears perked up... Thanks Dan nice review . Now can anyone also let us know what other one , reasonably priced also works with an acoustic or is the problem always the same? I am not experienced at all with these systems. Thanks in advance
  6. welcome and merry Christmas.. you will get all sorts of advice of what has worked for people. For me it was a matter of building up my hand strength a little at a time slowly. A lot from what I have seen has to do with lots of practice and more practice many times and then it comes to muscle memory. MM works wonders and in my prior profession trained many times a year with different scenarios thrown into the mix and MM would always come into play always. Stay with it and like many here don't rush and sometimes you must go back and start over.. no problem as its life. Good luck and welcome to our family! Oh your right hand will settle down over time just try and relax as much as you can and have fun. Also work with a hand strengthening tool while watching TV or driving.
  7. Great review.. thanks for sharing! I will be looking your youtube channel up next!
  8. Welcome. All great info, stick with it.. and yes many have stopped and started up as sometimes life gets in the way. I know I have . But a plan even 15 minutes at a time works wonders.. and Note Trainer is an easy great resource to use anywhere , sitting around , watching TV , anywhere.. you will be surprised what you will learn just playing around.
  9. Congrats.. also have one and had mine professionally set up and love it. Great deal for the money.
  10. Just wanted to say Thank You and all behind the scenes for making this a great forum about Guitar Things!
  11. Wow Dave just checked our carr amps.. very beautiful and nice.. Has anyone tried the Bugera V22. I was looking at them for clean sound and price point.
  12. Congrats.. you will enjoy it.. yes several of us have one, mine Squire, Classic Vibe 50's , Butterscotch. Great guitar for the money
  13. Congrats.. have fun finding just the right sound, its an adventure always something new.
  14. I have to admit I am more like Eracer. back and forth, trying to get my grandkids on board too. Just something I do always for fun. Now back to my dreaming about the JB Blues Explosion program I taped! One day.. Just One Day 1
  15. Great News Dan.. Yes its great to have you back and good luck on playing at a new gig! Very Nice..
  16. My Luthier at Maple Street Guitars in ATL did the same by blocking my Fender Strat with a block of wood etc as described , works fine.
  17. Now that's funny another video of ZZ talking of what BB told him.. glad you saw it too.
  18. Yes.. who knew amazing for me to learn all that about the man and his true talents !
  19. a professional guitar player in Band X who we see often swears by NYXL strings loves them and they last and stay in tune longer according to him
  20. For those of you interested in the history of the man Les Paul and all his classic sounds along with who he has played with.. its an oldie but well worth documentary see 'Les Paul Chasing Sound" wow just wow what I learned about the man and all his sounds including who he played with. It is about an hour and 45 minutes long so see it when you have some time. Just saw George Gruhn made a guest appearance talking about the Les Paul at about 12 minutes before the end.
  21. Just wanted to add something I heard from several great guitar players too.. and since I am no expert its just what I heard. They have said reportedly its more about the amplifier than strings , if you have a good amplifier and can dial in sounds it works good with any type strings. Just more food for thought.
  22. Once again great advice by all .. but I always think of what ZZ Top was told by BB King when asked about what strings he uses.." why you working so hard use lighter strings man" .. I thought that was sound advice from a great player... BB 11;s do sound richer to me.
  23. Great info by all.. One thing I always do too, wipe it down with a good guitar soft rag strings, and wood after every use. I have had solid wood guitars and laminated Washburn's over 20 years and all still look new.
  24. Hi Neil

Since I come and go and travel a lot.. I missed the lesson Steve had about Capos and just watched it. I saw he had a very informative sheet to help all. Is this something he gave out during the lesson and or can I down load one from here?

Thanks in advance Ron.. Yes I leave it open on forum so I can jump in and jump out when I need to as I am always forgetting my sign in passwords and have the sheets back home LOL
