  1. With such a difficult year, you are an inspiring poster man for never giving in or giving up. Your amp is a great reward for your perseverance, resilience and desire to rebound and push on. And it is a great amp! Best of wishes on a better year, good health and a load of fun musical moments. Greg
  2. So true. Bill Frisell (jazz), mostly Teles. John 6 (metal), only Teles. That covers a lot of musical ground. Some guitars with spit coils HB's can generate Strat/Tele-like tones, Hollowbodies can be rock machines etc.I feel the Tele is a very versatile guitar form that lends itself to single coils, P90's and HB's....but the single coils alone can generate a variety of tonal opportunities for different genres. Greg
  3. Pros-definitely ease of changing strings. On stoptail designs, tuning stability is improved in my opinion. On a floating bridge , the stability may be less unless one blocks the bridge. I have two strats that do not have locking tuners so I am not sure how a swap would affect their tuning but most of my Teles and both of my PRS's have locking tuners and I am a big fan of them. I also find the gear ratios seem to be better on them, than the Strats. I can't think of any cons. Greg
  4. Very nice Danny. I love Teles...I have a few. No Fender Tele yet but this is a sweet looking fella or gal.😋Can't wait to hear you spin some nice country on it. have fun and congrats. Greg
  5. A beautiful story for sharing. Congrats on the guitar and the wise choice for a husband. Greg
  6. Yes the font can be easily enlarged. Chords can be highlighted in varied colors as well as being enlarged. Backing tracks or original songs can be attached to the chart sheet as well to play along with. I have seen solo artists use this feature in performance, primarily the backing track feature ( drums, bass, keys etc.) as their accompaniment. Greg
  7. Like Fretless, I too use an iPad, OnSong and the Airturn 4 pad unit for group practice and performance play. The OnSong is a bargain in my opinion and all of my band members also use it so that we can all easily exchange song charts with each other. Very convenient as we build sets and add songs. Also there are so many features such as transposing keys quickly, modifying charts , highlighting and scrolling, creating your own charts, night lighting etc. I have had the app for years and updates and added features are always free. Best app I have ever purchased. Greg
  8. Sounds like a wonderful few days in spite of your initial misfortunes. You always have a gift for sharing the essence of the events with great flair and humor. Thanks so much for your colorful journal of the retreat. Greg
  9. Great series. So much musical history that transcends beyond just bluegrass and country music. I enjoyed it immensely and learned so much about the heart and soul of this American legacy. Greg
  10. Looking forward to it. I was raised on country music , as my folks favorite genre to listen to and am beginning to reconnect to the music with my playing. I'm a folk/rock/blues guy with old country in my blood. Greg
  11. So nice to hear the news. Getting the gear back together must be a great feeling of relief and joy. Best wishes on your successful reconnection to the music . Greg
  12. Congrats. These two make a nice couple. Greg
  13. I love those Princetons. Congrats! Greg
  14. Good news Danny . Never was a let down for us collaborators. Keep up your positive vibes and we hope to hear more good news ( and music) from you soon. Best wishes Greg
  15. Three cheers for you ian. It is hard, standing alone in front of an unknown crowd and performing-I much prefer a group of musicians with me onstage to give girth to the moment and mask any mistakes I may incur.😋 It takes an abundance of courage to do what you did, so take a well deserved bow. Don't worry about hiccups in an open mic-it comes with the territory. An audience appreciates the effort, much as they do for karaoke. You are a star for the moment-shine brightly! Congrats. Greg
  16. Outstanding recording and playing Kevin! A one man band. Well done. Greg
  17. Good luck on the open mic! You will do great. Hope someone is capturing the moment for you. Greg
  18. This is a terrific observation, Pat. I believe the connection of the singer to the song as well as the audience is of great importance to one's comfort level in performance and to engaging with the those listening and those performing alongside the singer. I am far, far, from the "best", but "recovering on the fly" is definitely something I have to do on occasion, and I even have the lyrics in front of me. Age has challenged my ability to remember lyrics as well as my younger days sadly, but it has not dampened my pleasure at playing music and sharing with others at this late stage of my life. Keep it up Ian, and keep sharing. Greg
  19. Such a wonderful performance , mate. As I told you before, I would have loved to be in the audience watching it live. I 'd give a standing ovation! So nice to see you emerge as a performing artist and I hope to see more. Very professional and you looked as cool as I knew you would. Kudos Ian. Greg

  21. Nice to see you having a positive moment in spite of your difficulties. Can't keep a good musician down! Keep on making sweet music. Greg
  22. Wow, just read this. What a terrible thing to happen, and so sorry for your losses and prospects for recovery. Water damage is a tough thing to rebound from but I wish and hope for you the best in turning the corner and getting all well again in your life very soon. Greg
