  1. Watching you play with the fluidity, elegance and a sense of grace, seemingly effortless with efficiency of motion really leaves me a bit slack-jawed with awe. This is beautifully well-done, the only thing I regret is not sitting in the sunshine with you, the mountains in the background, and experiencing the moment first-hand. You are a treasure for the community here. Thanks for sharing your music with us. Greg
  2. Thanks Mandy. I will begin to work on the material this weekend. Sometimes things come quickly and sometimes it takes time, as you well know. If you or Fretless have thoughts on a theme, go ahead and PM me. Greg
  3. Everyone who attends, I believe, returns with special memories of a great experience. Players range from all skill levels, beginners to advanced. A real value is that the course material provided in group sessions, as Diane has said, is well designed for all attendees regardless of skill or talent and I have picked up golden nuggets in every one of them. Players and instructors are very supportive and the opportunity to meet them, as well as the special guests, is an experience to treasure. Last year I saw small jam groups evolve and emerge in downtime, playing in the hallways while other attendees gathered as appreciative spectators. Nothing really speaks more pointedly than the experience to play and share musical joy with others in this way. Australia is a long ways to come, but the course and the ambience of Nashville are a unique life experience, one that you would never forget. BTW, two years ago a couple Aussies also made the journey. Best wishes. Greg
  4. Great stuff Wm and Watson. Wonderful guitar work Wm and fabulous vocal interpretations Watson. Enjoyed them both a lot. Thanks for sharing. Greg
  5. Thanks Fretless. I was really wanting to use Mandy's track also. As I have said in the past, this is a very good learning experience for all. Perhaps you can share with me in a PM how you made the tracking adjustments when we are finished with the project. Greg
  6. I am currently developing a side project trio, Americana -themed. One of the players has just completed his recording studio, which is where we currently practice. We record some of our practices and I am using this opportunity to better learn the studio side of recording and mixing. I will offer up mixing this collab, and would like to solicit the aid of my co-player. I will listen to your recordings sometime today and get back to you Mandy. Rhythm guitar is my strength so if you wish to swap tasks, or offer up some advice, let me know. I sent a PM. Greg
  7. I use all of these formations in blues play, though I often use just the treble three strings in the 5th form ( think basic D7 open chord form) to highlight a contrasting tone to what the other players are playing-no root. I recommend playing through blues progressions using each type of these forms in your basic 1-4-5, that is, use form 3 for all 3 chords through the progressions, then pattern form 4 etc. until all are ingrained into muscle memory. Learn the root note location to identify the cord...I learned the 3 pattern by identifying a barre A chord with the added G on the high E...the root on the G string. This greatly expands your playing potentials on the fretboard and it is a cool way to amaze your playing friends...."what chord is that?" Greg
  8. Beauty! I love Tele design...I have 5 of them...They fit me well. Enjoy and congrats. Greg
  9. Cool song, nice rendition. Our band has been toying with adding this to our setlist. It is a classic, thanks for sharing Greg
  10. What a haul! Your son is a lucky fellow with you as a dad. Congrats Greg
  11. Let me know if you end up in the area, carpooling is definitely a good option. Greg
  12. Mandy, if you are having problems playing, let me know and we can swap parts also if it is a difficulty for you yet. Greg
  13. I can try some lyrics and vocals for this one or just one or the other. Greg
  14. Nah, everything stays on the 7th fret, so just another B7 form to Bsus . Greg
  15. I think the fingering on the 2nd comp is actually Bb-Ab-D to Bb-A-Eb, maybe Bb7 to Bbsus? Greg
  16. I am having trouble identifying the chords played on the 6th fret of this song. As I interpret the chords: Intro and chorus chords are F# half-diminished to F half-diminished 5th and 4th positions fret- guitar 2, (F#m7b5-Fm7b5 formation , frets 8 and 7 positions on Guitar 1) first comp chords are Bsus to B7, fret 7 position Second comp appears to spell Bb A Eb to Bb A E, muting A,B high E strings , fret 6 position First, does this look correct visually to our jazz folks from the video-have I named them correctly, and second, if so, how would you name the 3 note combinations on fret 6 Greg
  17. Better than musicians paying $100 for a gig I guess..... Greg
  18. They are the real deal....thinking about another...... Greg
  19. Sweet...you have been busy! Greg
