If we are going to open up a time capsule!!!! This is from about 1964. I'm the guy with the bass, far left (stage far right.) I don't remember the circumstances that I had this Hofner Bass for the photograph because I actually played a Fender Bass. I just vaguely remember borrowing it for the photo.6 points

A street party last summer, I'm the singer, my PRS Hollowbody II through a Mesa Nomad....probably too loud, and I a bit flat on a couple of vocal notes. And another Greg5 points

Here's a picture of the guys I play with. Between the five of us, we play 6 string, 12 string, electric, mandola, bass, banjo and keyboard. After three years we have a 50 song library and we are constantly adding songs at each practice. We practice once a month combined with craft beer tasting. We have about two gigs a year (non paying). I have never had so much fun in my life. Henk4 points

My brother-in-law. Funny story with that....Early in our first set, the drums quit. The band played on of course. I heard my BIL cussing up a storm (drowned out by our guitars fortunately so the crowd heard nothing), then came back after 30 seconds or so. Seems his son had inserted his sticks too tightly into the holder and after one of them broke, my BIL kept trying to pull them out and they would go flying out of his hands one by one until he had none left. The moral is, hide the drummer if at all possible as anything is possible with him. Greg4 points

I think this is a great one: Rock Power Ballad in F Minor. Robert Renman, that made this, is a really good guy and, @NeilES335, a fellow Canadian.2 points

I am ordering a strap for my new guitar when it occurred to me that there may be some new members on here that haven't heard of Lakota Guitar Straps (Lakota Leathers). I have three of them now and they are unbelievably comfortable. All are made from buffalo and should last forever. They do come with a lifetime warranty. There are several other members on here that also use them and have commented favorably about their experience with these straps. Possibly most importantly, all straps are made by members of the Lakota Tribe on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. The Pine Ridge "Rez" is the poorest county in the United States. Any purchase will, in a small way, help people in desperate need of economic stimulation. If you are, or will be, looking for a new strap(s) at least look at their product/website. Now all I have to do is decide which color will go best with Whale Blue! (I have absolutely no connection to Lakota Leathers other than I like their product.)1 point

Just watched this TedX presentation by Tommy Emmanuel where he talks about his life as a "One Man Band" Its from 2014, but if you have not seen it, well worth a look! Many consider Tommy to be the best guitar player in the world today and I tend to agree.1 point

I still think it's weird that the piezo and non-piezo have different gauges, at least they did back then.1 point

Then I would go with the info above. The XLR inputs are the ones with pre-amps. The others require a line level signal. If your Acoustic Electric has a pre-amp, either input should work, but the owners manual shows the guitar going to input 1 or 2 so that's what I'd do. Typically your output would go to something like a pair of desk monitors for home use or larger pair of PA speaker for live applications. However, you could use just one monitor since nothing you are doing is stereo. Again, I am making an "ass-u-me-tion" that the amp described is an acoustic guitar amp. If so, just running the one of the XLR outs from mixer to the amp should produce satisfactory results. That said, with an XLR and instrument input on the amp you could achieve a very similar mix plugging the guitar and mic directly into the amp. The mixer just allows a couple more inputs.1 point

When I bought mine, PRS had a promotion that included a free 12 month supply of strings with my purchase. They shipped me...... all 11's for my guitar. I still have 10 months left. Greg1 point

The original 1955 Les Paul Custom was all mahogany body . Then they added a maple cap to brighten the sound a bit and the "famous" flame tops for 1959 I love Led Paul. Take a tip from Joe Bonamassa.. set volume and tones 5-6 then set up the amp volume and tone . That way you can "dial" from the guitar Enjoy1 point
