I have a Mini Loudbox which developed a loud hum even if nothing is plugged into it. If I turn the Master Vol down the hum goes down and then if the gain is turned up you can use the mike and or guitar but there is still a hum.

Waiting for a response from Fishman but hoping someone on the form can help, it has been a great amp.

Sounds like  ground fault issue. From a loose ground wire in  the amp to a loose ground wire on the copper ground pole in the yard. with the guitar pluged up does it quite when you touch the strings. . Does it quite when you move the amp to a nother  room . are the cables good. there are a lot of things there to check. Good luck.

Could be a capacitor in it or maybe a transistor.

You'll need to get it fixed

Blue Dog - does not quite when moved or touching the strings. Cables ore good, it may be a ground fault inside the amp. Doug - trying to contact someone fairly  local to have a look.

Thanks for the response guys.

I have the LoudBox Mini and love it. I agree with the Blue Dog that this would be a grounding issue. If you move it to another room and the buzz stops then something in the first room is causing the interference. If it continues to buzz in the second room you have now narrowed it down to the Mini or the home's electrical ground which may have leakage. Take the Mini to another house and try it again. Still buzzing then it has to be the Mini. Good Luck.

Tried all suggestions but still get a hum. The only knob which changes the hum is the master. If I turn it way down and use a higher gain it is not to bad. Will have to get it fixed.

That's unusual as I have one, and mine hummed a few days ago, but realized that didn't have the cable into guitar quite secure. Good Luck.

Did you try plugging the amp into a different outlet? It's possible there is a ground issue with your electrical outlet in the house, or reverse polarity.

Tried that.  In the shop now, hopefully it can be repaired. I will find out in the next couple of days.

Loudbox sent to Fishman.

In the meantime Marshalls AS50D acoustic amp just entered the house. So far the only complaint is that it is heavy.

So did the Fishman get fixed?

Did they explain the issue, or did you just get it back in working order with no clear explanation, as so often seems to be the case with these things?

Loudbox repaired - one of the pots for the mic needed to be reworked. Nor sure what this entailed but it is like new again.

glad you got it repaired Don... these are great little amps... if I had an acoustic with a pickup I'd surely get one... (was playing one in a store yesterday) .   I was playing a Godin Multiac (steel strring)  with a under-saddle pickup pickup through it, and the tone was really great... clear and warm sounding, added a bit of reverb and a touch of chorus... super.

I love the loudbox, lightweight has input for a mic ( we use two mics) and a guitar. The acoustic sounds very natural and we also use a touch of reverb and chorus.

Now using the Marshall AS50 with a Ibanez tube screamer with the strat.
