New Maton guitar top blemis
Blue Dog replied to JayKayWright's topic in Guitar Care, Repair & Building
I clean my Martin with mild soap and water then dry it quickly . but it is a wood top . no stain , it gets dark there to . and cleans right up. i heard that baking soda and water worked well . but you have to try a small spot first then wash and dry . Good luck and nice guitar -
Go slow and practice strumming patterns. that are complex. Like A 4 beat measure broke down . Like 1 beat D strum 2 Beat DU strum 3 Beat DUDU strum 4th Beat DUDU . and change it around Learn to play 16 Th notes by Feel and not by count. Use the Metronome If you can master that then you are set. then you have to learn to palm mute in count . It takes work. practice 16th notes with a mute in between . hear how it sounds and get the feel.

How can rhythm guitar help a song to build?
Blue Dog replied to Nutty1's topic in Guitar Playing & Technique
I play that song exactly the way he sing it . Normal to soft to hard . sounds great . you can change the tone by playing soft. and then hard . or us a Bass strum and then go to a strum. the song CapM posted the other day does that he played finger picking to the end a then strummed the rest. a song need a hook or riff. some thing that stands out and catches your attention and holds it . like this one.it changes back and froth -

Hi gotto. Hand stretching before the gig you know . but drink plenty of water and potassium. gator aid or a banana . take a aspirin. Advil before the gig might help. tiger balm on hand before gig helps . but give it time to dry first .Last but not least a thicker neck guitar. good luck.

I keep track in the count . Like 1234, 2234. 3234, 4234. back to 1234 2234 3234 4234. and after a while you dont have to do it. when playing leave this country boy alone you have to play the D chord 40 times strait . then go to g chord for 8 times. so i count . it up to 8 1234 2234 up to 8234. and start over do it 5 times . then i have to keep a mental count on the five times . but i count them backwards. 5 4 3 2 1. two not confuse them with the other count. . its tricky with out a backing track or some one singing the words to the song. or you can just follow the music in the song book. as you play. its just a mental count and you have to work it out the way it works for you. Sorry. He counts it out at 2.53 in video

I bend the string about 1/2 a inch up from the ball where the ball is at a 90 degrees and put it in the hole where the ball is at a 90 degrees to the bridge and pin and you can hold it there. -

Because he ream them out to fit each pin . you can put the same pin in the same hole . but if you buy new pins they dont come numbered for each hole they are just pins, -

I watch a lot of his vids. Some cool stuff there. -
Probably a power tube . You have to be carefull and not play the guitar till the tubes warm up and dont plug up the guitar or unplug the guitar with the amp on . it will cook them .and turn the volume down when turn off and on. Good luck with it hope you get it fixed are replaced.
