  1. And the second part of this question is: Where do you like to ideally keep the humidity in your music room/studio/house?
  2. I went to my local guitar store today and didn't come out with a guitar!!! I actually went to look at one in particular and, of course, fell in love with it. But didn't buy it! And my wife was with me, encouraged me to make an offer it, and I still didn't! And I'm feeling ok! All I came out of the store with was a hygrometer! A D'Addorio Planet Waves Humiditrak. It monitors the humidity in my music room and pushes the results to my phone. I've gone way too long without humidifying my music room and I finally started a humidifier this morning. I have no idea how much damage I done to my guitars. But since I started the humidifier I figured I need to see how it works. The guy that owns the guitar store recommended this one and he uses it in his house. It will be interesting to see how it works! Currently 42% humidity and 71 F! What is everyone else using to humidify your music room and monitor?
  3. Watson43, Welcome to the forum. As UncleHammy said, it is great to have a new poster. And it reminds me we need a place for Introductions for new members. And what a way to start! Really nice playing, singing and a very nice job of recording it. Thank you for posting this.
  4. Fretless, thank you for posting this.
  5. Someone, years ago, posted at our Yahoo Groups page, the bpm for all the songs on the playalong cd. I had downloaded that. I just did a very quick search on my hard drive and couldn't find it. I will look again tomorrow and should be able to find it for you.
  6. Thanks for this link, Gerard.
  7. But the rate of osmosis is a function of solute concentration differential.............Oh wait! You're saying I am thick skulled
  8. Yes, Ian, sounds great. Nice vocals and really nice playing.
  9. UncleHammy, I took the blues scale boxes chart and I've been putting it under my pillow every night. But dang, it doesn't seem to be working. I thought it would.
  10. That is exactly what I said last year. I'm hesitant to say it again this year! (But I am hopeful)
  11. We don't have Showtime either. But we have Hulu with the Showtime add on. I'm hoping I can see it there.
  12. I can't remember if I had posted about this at our old home or not. Even if so, maybe since it's coming out next month a reminder is appropriate. "Life in 12 Bars" a full length documentary about Eric Clapton will air February 10 on Showtime. Here is more information about it and the trailer. For us Clapton fans it looks fascinating.
  13. Thank you for the recommendation, Dave!
  14. Beautiful guitar, Ben. And great story and great wife!
  15. I more than likely deleted it Mandy. I'll look.
  16. That is not the answer I expected from Ben. And it wasn't "Fender" I expected either.
  17. I went to sign up and couldn't. It won't take my email address which they just used to send me some prospecting email. I can't find the spot to open a new account. Actually, apparently even Udemy has heard about my singing and is trying to make it difficult for me. It's a plot.
  18. Thanks Mandy. No one needs this more than I!!!!!
  19. Thank you, Gerard. I'm sure this will be helpful.
  20. Tuninghead, what a great point Triple-o makes! So much so that I wish I would have reflected more before my post. I had made somewhat of a big deal of this over at L&MG. I thought my barre chords were pretty good. Until I got to 10. Even though I didn't finish 10 I know that my barre chords are now a lot better having tried fingerstyle. rkl312, then I should be really embarrassed! If I recall, without looking at my log, I think I took about 9 months.
  21. Tuninghead, I am the wrong one to comment on this. If you look at my sig you can see that I did not finish 10. But I worked on it for months. So it is hard, at least it was for me.. At session 10 is when we start to get into "specialization" in our L&MG journey. After that you get into Blues, Pentatonics (used in a lot of different genres), Rock, Jazz, etc. So I would not skip session 10 because of intimidation. But if you are absolutely certain you're never going to play Fingerstyle you could almost justify skipping it based on wanting to move on to another genre. JMHO. Why not start it and see what you think? Spend a week or two. You might find you like it. I'm certainly not sorry I spent some time there and it probably helped my coordination. In fact, in the not too distant future I'm going to go back and finish it up.
  22. Thank you, Diane
  23. Very comprehensive list, Brad. Thank you. I am especially interested in the " Guitar Capo Mastery". I am about ready to buy one and try using it so perfect timing. I finished up Eric Clapton's eponymous autobiography a year or two ago. There was nothing in it that hadn't been covered in the press or documentaries. But a Clapton fan is still probably going to find it interesting. I did. I just started Carlos Santana's autobiography, "The Universal Tone". I'm not far enough into it to recommend it or not but so far it has been very interesting.
