  1. The videos for the Song Hits are broken up into. Introduction, Lesson, Performance. Steve talks about the full versions in the Introduction of those songs.
  2. @Jkindgren note on You Got It" by Roy Orbison and "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" by Pat Benatar Steve had to put the full versions with his Session 1 versions otherwise he'd have to pay royalties twice. In Session 1 Song Hits just work on the short version. Long versions for like session 11 or 13
  3. Yes with an exception In Session 1 of Song Hits The Full version of You Got It" by Roy Orbison and "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" by Pat Benatar Steve wanted them in later sessions but royalties would have to been paid twice for his beginner version and later on the full version. So the full versions are in Session 1. You don't have to play those 2 full version songs till say Session 11+ Steve does sort of say this on the DVD when you watch it
  4. I think you had enough history on Yorkville I can't find the spot.. but Pete had built a arena system for one of those 12hr concerts and all his amps started blowing up. the stress was so much.. he quite Yorkville.. sold all his investment in it.. and lived on an island in Northern Ontario for the rest of his days.. sort of Howard Hughes..
  5. Actually the night I met Pete Traynor,, I also me Jack Long If anyone is interested Yorkville Sound posted some time ago a "History of Yorkville Sound" .. 56 Pages long. but I'll post just a few excerpts here
  6. Long time ago (before Obi Wan..) Peter Traynor.. which I did meet in person... made some pretty darn good amps for a startup gear rental company called Yorkville Sound which also started Long and McQuade music store and also started Traynor Amp's legend had it that Pete dropped some of his amps off a roof of the warehouse he was designing and building in. which started a 'tough as all .. ' slogan for the amps. Pete's gone now.. but the name still lives on ,, this is an older video.. but .. wonder if it's true.. watch here.
  7. @Nutty 1 replied to your introduction thread else where but . Learn and Master Guitar is the foundation for all the other add on Courses, so as Nuttty1 pointed it , you'll need to do at least the first 10 sessions of the LMG before switching over to the Finger Style as for which guitar.. Classical guitars have a much wider neck and you'll need to stretch your hand that much further than a standard guitar. one benefit of the nylon string guitar is they don't require as much hand strength and the strings are slightly easier on the fingers to start out with. if it was me, I'd stick to the standard gutiar
  8. I've played in an RCM 'choir' for 4yrs now. the 2 other guitarists started playing in 1954 and 1971. so they are beyond my playing skills, I try to nail the second rhythm for them (until they decide to capo a song and change all the chords up on me) as for soloing in your situation. I would think you need to know the song rhythmically first, then you're going to need to know the melody we'll . once you have the melody firmly under your fingers then you can use your pentatonic knowledge work on the solo. there are others here that could comment better than me, can pick out the melody to solo with. I'm sure they'll chime in soon
  9. Chattahoochee is a challenge.. don't think I was able ever make it smooth as Steve's.. it might not be everyone's cup of tea.. but I'm understanding why Steve choose specific songs as they provide challenges.. maybe I'll come back to it after I manage to get a Day Tripper and Pretty Woman recorded properly
  10. @WATSON43 really like the added harmonics @Nutty 1 all part of the process of recording ourselves, yes singing and playing is difficult.
  11. But working with my guitar instructor one on one and trying to follow his chords of songs he and I both know. (the guitar instructor just happens to play at a church near my church and have common songs) but he's trying to get me to break away from playing in the same open position that everyone else is. I think this capo chart is a bit easier to follow chord shapes
  12. Steve's chart is one thing.. here's a 'Standard Capo" Chart
  13. This is what it's about, sharing your music with others
  14. yup was just about to post this. interesting song choice for the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society though.. seems trebly though.
  15. @NeilES335 listened to this a few times already. Glad the gear is now working for you. Sounds nice and clean.
  16. don't get stuck on Session 1 for more than 2 weeks.. real learning starts in Session 2 Session 1 is just to get your hands coordinated. p.s. in my signature line below.. Note the Words of Guitar Wisdom by Steve Krenz.. lots of great info for any guitarist esp working on the LMG guitar course
  17. probably a little too much.. I could see 2x a year but 3 to 4
  18. @Mike Hoodenpyle @NeilES335 actually you don't see the whole song.. plus its 162bpm. and 3/4 time so the G, D, Em, is the walk down.. to the next G. I figured out there is no need for another walk down till the end of the verse that goes Em, A, D, D9/C, G, D. on the D, D9/c, G.. i'm moving my /c finger to the B.. so it walks down from D, C, B before the G.
  19. okay I'm in the Key of G in 3/4 my chords are G, D, Em , Em, G, G, D, D, Am, C, etc. I think I have a walk down from G to D by adding the F# and probably E before the D chord. but what would I use for a walk down from D to Em
  20. sadly only I signed up to "group" Uke lessons.. we've now switched to guitar lessons
  21. even if I bought one. I still wouldn't sound like Gilmour (comment on Clapton's "charity" how many can afford to go to Antigua for drug rehab? it should have been in the UK somewhere to help where he grew up, sorry a 'rich folk rant')
  22. take a look at this video.. I think it talks more about where Gibson is going
  23. @Nutty 1 you might want to read Neil's "rabbit hole" with ProTools, and just download Free Reaper to start off with a DAW
  24. Saw that on NAMM news. Let's see what he can do with Gibson
  25. @NeilES335 guess that Zoom H2n hand held is looking good now
