    @Nutty 1 hint, all necks have a bow relief.Β

If they were dead straight you'd have tons of string buzz

As guitar necks can bow in a helpful way from body to headstock (called neck relief) or an unhelpful way from low E to high E (sometimes called twisting) I had assumed that twisting was the case. I should have written it more clearly. Sorry Doug 😊

I am glad that you made the right decision @ChrisJ032Β Enjoy your new guitar and post a picture or video for us when you get it.πŸŽ‰πŸŽΈπŸ˜Ž

This months topic comes from Simira.

"HowΒ about the Beatles and Beyond.Β  Any songs from the Beatles, Lennon, McCartney or Harrison?" Β
We forgot Ringo, we can play any of his songs too! Thank you @PopeyeπŸ‘

This topic is pretty wide but if you can not find anything to suit you could post a song from the 60s decade.

    1) Wim VD1 playing "Blackbird "

    Β

    2) NeilS335 playing "Till There Was You"

    3) Watson43 playing "Paperback Writer"

    4) Simira playing "Hey Jude"

  3. This is a great lesson. It resonates with me because I have heard some of this advice on theΒ bass course and a banjo course that I am doing at theΒ moment. It is not only applicableΒ to those of you who are playing on stage or in church but also for learning lesson material and songs from books. Although it is written from the perspective of a bass player it is just as applicable to playing chords or melody.

  4. 🏰🎑Hello Everyone!πŸœπŸ›€

This months Recording Challenge comes from Freewill, it is "Places or Locations".

Freewill said "SongsΒ that would obviously fit would be "America The Beautiful", "Back in the USSR", etc.Β "

You can also interpret this more loosely for songs including the word "home" like "My Hometown" or the word "place" like "We've Gotta Get Out of This Place" or "A Place in Your Heart"

I look forward to hearing your recordings.

    1) Wim VD1 playing "St. James Infirmary "

    2) Watson43 playing "Up on the roof"

    3) Simira playing "Havanah"

Well, after a long lay off I started back just before Christmas on Lesson 5. Hands a little stiff but coming along good. Open chords were a breeze ( I use to play rhythm in a bluegrass gospel band for the church and sat in once in a while in my friends country band ). However note reading is a little slow and rusty so spending a little more time improving there before I move on to Lesson 6.

Looks like your hands did not forget how to do it! I know what you mean about note reading, if I use a learning resource that has tabs for a while I forget how to note read, especially the bass cleft.🎸

@Nutty 1 thank you for posting your playing.Β  I don't know what to add beyond what @Fretless said.Β  I've been around this forum for a while and am also "so impressed at seeing your steady and continual improvement".Β Β  Great playing and singing and, no, the delay did not at all sound "too weird".Β Β  Thanks again for sharing this.

  8. Great photo @Eracer_Team-DougH.

The fact that you said "only rhythm" is another measure of how far you have come along in your guitar journey. I have never played in a band and am now at the stage where I need to force myself to practice playing to drum beats and figure out what beats and how to lock in with them.

Congratulations on all of your hard work in the past and present. I really admire people who play live.

To everyone else who is reading this: The first step beginners can make towards playing live is to record themselves and evaluate their playing, the next step is to share your recordings on a safe platform. This forum is a great place to share because you will not get negative comments as they are not permitted by our wonderful moderators. πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ
