  1. That is interesting, I have just bought a pedal with a looper. Presumably all the songs in the book contain repeating chord progressions. Interesting idea.🤔
  2. Beautiful CapM, very enjoyable. I love the artwork too!
  3. Hello John, I am glad that your cataract surgery went well, good luck with the eyelash correction. I hope you start to feel better soon!
  4. Thank you Danny. Wow! That is great. I am looking forward to hearing them.
  5. Here is my contribution to this months challenge. It is a new original that I wrote this month and have been practicing to play and sing at the same time. It is called "I think its time" I think its time
  6. Wow, that is superb Danny!👏🏼 I beg to differ on the point that you say you are not a singer. I think your vocals are great and you even could turn the volume up on them in your mix. Brilliant!
  7. Danny, I have tried to paste this into my browser but it says "invalid address".
  8. Thank you @guitarben and @Wim VD1 How about "If I could turn back time" anything that is to do with the past or time.
  9. Thank you @Fretless for your kind words. Yes you are right, I will move the microphone down half way between, it will make the vocals more consistent. Thank you for your advice.
  10. It would be great to have any tips on improving @Fretless, I am always grateful for advice. I will not ever overtake you even if I live to be 200!? Just taking baby steps towards singing and playing at the same time at the moment.
  11. I have recently purchased the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Studio pack and after reading about Neil's adventure with the included software I made the decision to stick with Garageband. I am happy to report that on a Mac it is practically a plug in and play item. I did not need to download anything (not even a driver). I got it up and running within minutes. I even got it to do multi track recording in Garageband (how cool is that) as well as being able to record a guitar and microphone simultaneously for Quicktime videos (as used in my entry in this months Recording Challenge). I think the Studio pack is superb (thanks for the recommendation @NeilES335). The headphones are brilliant for me as I have just had to donate a load of headphones to charity because they made my ears red and sore. These fit around the ear and do not actually touch the outer ear. Fantastic! ???
  12. Thank you for posting this @Randy120 it is a great article for beginners and a great reminder for people who are starting to play barre chords on acoustic guitars. It is also a great refresher anyhow as maintaining good technique guards against injuries.?
  13. Hello @moopapa, Welcome to our guitar family it is great to have you with us. Congratulations on your exciting news, I bet you will be a lovely dad. I can offer you answers to questions 2 and 3 together because they are interlinked: I would recommend doing the Learn & Master Guitar course first, I think people are saying that you can switch over to the Fingerstyle course when you get to Session 11 in the Guitar course. I believe you will need to learn the chords in order to do fingerstyle as they are often used in fingerstyle, but the Guitar course will help you with that. The Learn & Master Guitar course is an excellent foundation for guitar learning (probably the best on the market) but I am not sure about how it lends itself to classical guitar as classical guitarists hold the guitar in a different way and it is a much more disciplined way of playing. I have not gone down that route. Yamaha Slg200s ( my wife's gift) , ? that will not wake your baby! Keep us posted on how you are doing and keep asking questions! Best wishes Mandy
  14. Thank you Greg for your kind words and encouragement. They mean a lot to me, as does those from @IanD. My guitar learning is much hampered by my osteoarthritis and trigger finger but hopefully they will become less severe soon when my cancer medication stops. Here's hoping! Thank you also to everyone who gave me likes.?
  15. @Eracer_Team-DougH it has taken me a while to do these baby steps!? @IanD Thank you for your encouragement and advice, I will keep at it!?
  16. Wow! An inspirational trip for sure. I hope you do get back into playing your guitar.?
  17. I have been attempting to play guitar and sing at the same time. Cor, it is really difficult! There are lots af mistakes here but it is as good as I an do now. I am also learning to use my new Scarlett Focusrite with a Boss Ve2 Vocal Harmonist pedal. This is "Purple Rain" by Prince. RIP Prince ?
  18. Welcome to the new forum Peter @Slug it is great to have you back with us!
  19. Well done Greg and band.? I love hearing of your musical adventures! ?
  20. Welcome @Andy Social. Yes! I find the recording challenges good for inspiration too. Having a topic already chosen helps to concentrate the mind. I have written a few songs and posted them there (mine are very beginner). We have some very talented song writers here too. I look forward to hearing your songs. ?
  21. Welcome @CliffMcCartney it is great to have you with us. If you get stuck on anything or if you need any advice please do post. There are lots of people out there who will be more than pleased to help ( myself included!). Anyway, keep us updated on how you are doing.?
