About Me
I'm a guitar player. I have been one since I was 6 years old. I came from a non-musical family and grew up in San Antonio, Texas. My mom wanted a guitar player so I was the one who got the lessons. Week after week, year after year, I went to guitar lessons during my elementary and middle school years never the least bit interested in it. I had a great teacher, Johnny Frisco, and my Dad made sure I practiced every night after supper. It wasn't until high school that ever even occurred to me that I could play guitar any better than anyone else.
By age 16 I was routinely playing in Jazz jam sessions around town and, much to my amazement, I was selected as the only guitarist in the All-State Jazz Band. I got my music degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio with Classical guitar as my principle instrument. Upon graduation, my wife and I got married. We've been married over 28 years now and have been through good times, tough times, and very lean times. I've got a beautiful wife and three grown sons. We live in Nashville, Tennessee (Music City, USA) and love it here!
I've had the wonderful privilege of playing guitar and working with many talented people great and small including many Grammy winning artists live and in the studio. I've played guitar on almost every continent and the guitar courses I've put together have gone to every corner of the globe helping thousands learn how to play this wonderful instrument. I feel tremendously blessed and called to the work that I do here and I am abundantly thankful and grateful for each day that I have to be a part of it.
