  1. Hey @Wim VD What i do for calluses is, when practicing new material they will build up very fast. I like to buff my fingertips and after that i use an alcohol free lotion, and when playing i make sure and use fret ease. This seems to work for me. Danny
  2. @Wim VD I will forever be working on solos. lol! but on a serious note, I'm going to keep working on 19 through the summer along side other supplemental material then move on to 20 this fall. Ive adding chicken picking and slide guitar so that has slowed me down. Danny
  3. Thank you @Wim VD Fantastic job on your recording, I love that song. Danny
  4. Thank you so much @mark_h This recording thing is an art all of its own. Your recordings sound excellent, any advice would be much appreciated.
  5. Thank you, Mandy. Recording is all together different than just playing. But it is fun learning about recording.
  6. Thanks Greg, and wow you are a busy man. I don't know how you do it! I admire your dedication. Thank you @UncleHammy
  7. Thank you, Matonanjin. I did, its hard to get everyone together when i record. I played drums in JR high and High School. I didnt pick up the guitar tell later in life, and when i did playing bass was part of the learning process.
  8. Howdy folks, Been awhile since i recorded anything, the band thing eats up a lot of time. We are taking a break from our Sunday gigs so i ll try and use this time for recording, that's a game of its own! well, this my entry for this month. My buddy did the lead vocal track for me and for my myself on (drums, bass, ryth guitar, lead guitar and backup vocals). Danny This recording is for educational purposes only, i do not own this song, all copyright goes to the Randy Rodger's band.
  9. @Steve Krenz Excellent!! I love it. thanks for sharing. Danny
  10. Way to go @matonanjin you will have a blast. Lets us know how it goes. enjoy! Danny
  11. Hello @Wim VD Its a slow process. The best thing i've been doing is chomp at it little by little. What is really helping is playing in a real life situation and take what Steve is showing us and use it in live jams. i've taken what Steve has shown us and tried to put it to use, but there is no substitute for on the spot playing, your brain seems to get things when it is pressured in those situations. you will flop at times but it remembers not to dot it again for some reason, at lest for me. Try to let go and let your brain just play on its own. I hear licks now and go wow that was neat how can i do that and just let the fingers go searching, for me they just seem to find a path. i have to admit a lot of my solos are from the hip, some work and some don't, but each time i do try i learn more. I guess what im saying is just learn what steve has guide lined to us but dont be mechanical. just let go and make mistakes. as far as your arpeggios, of chords, my practice was to make chords anywhere possible on the guitar and thats where i tend to go for my leads. Thank you for reaching out to me, please fill free to anytime. Its nice to see someone come this far as well. oh, ive been playing at a local tavern here with a few guys and its been a wonderful experience. good luck,
  12. Hi Paul, @AcousticM I use studio one as well. If you have itunes you can use it to convert your mp3 to a wav file, studio one only uses a wav file format. If you have itune, click the file header and go to convert, but make sure you select the file first. If you need more help just let me know. Danny
  13. That's good stuff cap. I've seen several of his videos.
  14. HI Robert, What i do is, get the timing and strumming down and then i just listen to the song over and over and over.....i guess you see my point. You will find over time it will take less time to get both working together. (for most songs) I still have trouble with one song i do at our gigs and i've heard the song a thousand times, it is Pure Prairie League- Amie. Danny
  15. In country music played backwards, you get everything back. lol
  16. Excellent Photos everyone! I wish i had some photos of my old band, they got lost in my travels. Thank you for sharing everyone. Danny
  17. It is a lot of fun. that pic was taken after they turn on the lights for last call. we played "empty glass"
  18. This is our sunday evening gigs. Left to right: Joe, John, Danny(myself), ED, jason
  19. Well done Mark! I'm gonna try to post one if i can squeeze it in between practicing songs for our gigs. Danny
  20. UncleHammy, Great recording! Will you be heading the monthly recording challenge and will there be a designated forum heading to direct us straight to it? Thanks Danny
