  1. I'm pretty sure your right.. probably sanded and shimmed the bridge and nut.. which is not unusual if you're trying to lower the string height on a 'normal' acoustic. he says he's getting pinging when tuning.. so we know the nut slots are too tight and not wide enough (note.. I said wide. not low)
  2. -------------- We do everything in guitar repair from re-stringing, set-ups and adjustments, to complete restorations of Vintage instruments. We receive instruments for repair from all over the world -------------- Hmmm Like I said contact Taylor or Greg @ GruhnGruhn's
  3. It would appear that Mr Sand is not good with customer relations. I question how he's been in business so long like that. I know if I paid for something and wasn't satisfied the all the shops here would say. Bring it back, what do you think it needs
  4. Needless to say, doesn't sound like would return to the shop to "fix" their repair. I would do 2 things 1-Contact Taylor see what they could do for you, they may want it sent back to them for repair. 2- contact Greg Voros at Gruhn's, he's a long time "buddy" to Guitar Gathering, and more than capable of repairing anything. Yes both will cost you money, but you don't have a $100 Walmart guitar either
  5. Hi I'm Doug aka Eracer_Team, I'm a guitaraholic. There is said it,,,, hmm no healing .. guess buy more guitars... Working on the "original " version of Learn and Master Guitar DVD series.series plus lots of other stuff Some day I'll get a "Guitar Gathering North" set up for Steve to visit here in Toronto Canada.
  6. Nashville to Memphis is a 3hr drive Car rental for the day is like $100, make sure you get unlimited mileage
  7. When we were in Nashville 2016, we rented a car for the day and drove the 3hrs , 1 straight highway to Memphis. couldn't have been a more simple drive.. We stayed downtown (Marriott built in 1927), so we didn't need a car once there, We did tourist bus to Graceland, etc. or walked Beale St is small compared to Nashville's but has the Original BB King's (we liked Nashville's BB King's better) plus Bass Pro shop there in Memphis has the tallest pyramid outside of Egypt,, like 500feet
  8. I'll have to start using my DAW again and figure out how to play "true" multi-tracking [edit] or figure out how to set up a DAW in my car
  9. how many days do you have to wait for the stuff to arrive at LM
  10. @SandyB53 as Steve says ,, Session 5 and 6 is the 'candy store' . it's the heart of songs, as it tends to the rhythm of the song.. it opens up the gateway to singing and playing (and makes you sound good).
  11. you're on the board @NeilES335 .. that's one small step for .. guitar-kind.. gazing into my crystal ball I see a new mixer and mic on the horizon.. (actually I should get a new one as well.. but I hardly ever use my DAW and mixer as it is) yeah I know hard to post with such other 'polished' sources of music,,, hopefully my "chainsaw" approach will help others post their recordings as well.
  12. been working Day Tripper from Song Hits... added the solo in B ,, just hacking at the fingering.. maybe some day.. it will be "listenable" p.s. sorry I messed up the solo so badly (rhythm Epiphone Sheraton, Lead Fender strat) just my phone next to the amp
  13. At one time the Gibson auto tuners, you just pulled them out like the knob on a watch, which would disengage the gears for manual tuning
  14. To be fair to myself, I did spend first 4yrs of my LMG journey doing 9 major stage productions with my daughter. And building tube amps The last 4yrs was devoted to the church choir
  15. I just can't seem to sit in front of a computer screen and do on-line courses.. but for some strange reason I can sit in front of a 50" tv and do Steve's.. go figure?
  16. I've been probably one of the slowest through LMG that hasn't quit, I'm on 12 yrs now and I have not completed (nor am I close) the course. ? I found that depending on how much you played as a kid/teen is how fast you can get through the LMG course. (Me,, not a lot as a kid/teen) I guess technically I'm in session 10 working Travis and Connon in D, but I've dabbled in sessions 11, 13 and 15 already I definitely don't spend as much time playing as I should.. maybe after I retire in a few years , cause with only government old age, I wont be going anywhere except to my music room.
  17. Moving on up, to the 17 side, They say rhythm is 90% of the song, but solos are way cooler.
  18. In the 70's when coloured vinyl come on the market.. I have a white vinyl copy of the Whit Album
  19. No a "true" friend would put new batteries in the AmpPlug
  20. (thread hi-jack) I'll start a new thread on this once I get going. the problem with the wires found in headphones is they usually wrap some sort of silk strand cloth with the no so great braded wire. it's hard to get those to 'tin' properly.
  21. Drop the Vox's off at my place . Now that you have a replacement, there'd be no rush on me I'll loan you my Amp Plug to use with the Marshall's, and I'll see if I can solder the thin awful wires they put in those things to a new 1/8 stereo plug
  22. Ha ha ha, obviously in response to my post, where we're hearing really great (polished) songs to a "run what ya brung" challenge
