  1. Great job Greg! You look so relaxed and confident. My dream now is to do a Guitar Gathering one day and duet with you! #raisethebar ? Take care buddy Ian
  2. Sounds great Greg, well done. I look forward to seeing the video. ian
  3. Randy, so sorry to hear this. I so hope it mends soon so I can hear some more great stuff from you in the recording challenges. Ian
  4. Hey Greg, really sorry to hear about your back. Hope it gets better soon. Wow, what an amazing opportunity though. I'm sure you'll be great. Can you tell us some of the songs you'll have in your set? Better still, it would be great to see any video footage afterwards. I'd love to be there in person to enjoy it. Anyway, go get 'em and break a leg. Ian
  5. @Don I’m not sure if it has directly, but it’s definitely improved my confidence to just get out there and give it a go. I play and sing a lot now, mostly at home still, but I do tend to choose songs that are simple to play along with my singing. I have to keep forcing myself to stop singing and focus on improving the guitar technique. I’m determined to keep progressing, even if slowly, rather than settle. ian
  6. Hi everyone, I've been having singing lessons for the past few years at a superb local singing school. They put on a Summer Show last weekend at a great venue to an audience of 200 people to showcase their students, kids singing groups and pop choirs (which I've also joined). Here is their video of me performing my own arrangement of I Can See Clearly Now, along with a backing track that I recorded myself and superb backing vocals from my teacher and her colleague. Neither the vocals nor guitar are particularly virtuosic, I deliberately wanted something simple so that I could focus on overcoming incredible stage fright nerves that have previously crippled my performances in front of other people. It's far from perfect, and I really need to work on those facial expressions, but I did it! When my LMG package was delivered 10 years ago and I couldn't play or sing a note, I could never ever have imagined doing this. I can honestly say that without Steve starting me on my journey and the incredible support and encouragement from this community this would never have happened. Ian
  7. Wow, amazing Six. Playing great music with friends for the entertainment of people... that's what it's all about. I loved the song choices in the set, very cool! No stopping you now. Ian
  8. Love it Cap! Those layered guitar riffs sound amazing. Well worth waiting for! Ian
  9. @DianeB Just watched the two videos. Brilliant! Well done to you. Ian
  10. @WATSON43 that is amazing! What a fabulous recording and that voice! Simply sublime, well done. Ian
  11. Cap, this is beautiful. Your recording and mixing skills are now out of this world and compliment your superb playing and singing ability really well. Ian
  12. That's brilliant @Fretless! It's great to see that Eric Cantona found something to keep him occupied after football too ? I think there are charities that can help people who can't afford instruments ?
  13. @Wim VD you are getting better and better, that was superb!
  14. That’s great Ben, thanks. I didn’t realise it had already gone viral.
  15. This is great! I really enjoyed working my way through the tracks and listening to them all. Well done everybody!
  16. Well done @WATSON43. I loved the solo playing and your voice sounds great on this. Ian
  17. I love this one too. You are on a roll! There is an old guy at the folk club I go to that sings a very characterful a Capella version of this song so it made me smile when I heard it. ian
