Thanks for the challenge @watson43 .
This is one I learned for a recent wedding. It’s under 2 mins and was a lovely piece to arrange and play around with. It definitely stays in the repertoire. Beatles tunes are always more difficult then I expect, this took a while to get under the fingers. It’s recorded live to my iPhone and was played through a Roland mobile ac. The little Roland is a fab piece of kit. I use it for my indoor Restaurant gigs and it’s plenty loud enough.
enjoy.
Here, there and everywhere... beautiful love song, Mark.
Great choice for a wedding.

I wanted to sing this song but my cold is forbiding it so this is my months contributions.
pleases hear his original :
Great instrumental, Danny! I hope your voice is better by now.
The production is also done so well. I was wondering how many hours of work you put in, to get it at this level.

I'm a huge James Taylor fan, so I thought this would be a good one for this month's theme. Thanks for listening.
Beautiful, @WATSON43!
Because of your cover of this month, I have added James Taylor to my Spotify playlist 🙂

Thanks, @WATSON43. Status Quo were big in UK and Europe in the seventies and eighties and famous for their boogie woogie rock and roll.

Any questions for Rick Derringer tonight?
- Steve
Hi Steve, I have a question.
How did Rick learn to play? Did he get any music education, or did he learn by try and error and by listening to others? And how does he maintain his playing technique now?
Thanks,
Wim.

@pkotof, Welcome, Phil.
West African playing, that sounds interesting!
I have been listening to Ali Farka Toure in the past. I never tried this style, but it sounds like lots of arpeggios played high in the neck.
What are your favorite artists in this style?

And now something completely different...
I always wanted to rock like Status Quo. The intro was tricky to count, and the speed of the short solo was a challenge. But so much fun to learn.

Here's my cover of a Bob Dylan tune. I don't play harmonica, so I tried a few guitar solos instead. Please enjoy.
Very nice, Kevin. Your voice makes me think of Cat Stevens.

I'm not sure I agree with that, Doug. You don't think there is occasion that calls for the open chord version?
I love to play that chord in an acoustic blues in E.

Would it be ok to post bass recordings? It is a form of guitar...at least in name. I don't currently have any acoustic or electric guitar songs ready but I have a few bass recordings of me playing along to a backing track.
I would be happy to listen to your bass recordings. Bring them on 😀.

Here is my contribution to this months challenge. It is a new original that I wrote this month and have been practicing to play and sing at the same time. It is called "I think its time"
You are a singer songwriter now, Mandy!
Nice song, I like it.
Btw, I like red guitars, too 😀

Howdy folks! Here is my entry for this months challenge. I want to apologize for the vocals, I'm not a singer, lol! but I tried. The song is "She Ain"t in it" by Jon pardi. its kind of about if you could turn back time, in this case its about and old love. go figure, its a country song, lol!
Danny
That sounds great, Danny and I wished I could sing like you!
How did you play the lap steel guitar parts?
Wim.

This was a real fun one to learn and I like the fact that this solo is played all over the neck.
It is my final BGU recording. Now that I have learned all these licks, it is time to work on my blues improvisation skills. Thanks for listening,
Wim

Is this still going? I was looking forward to March's theme to set a challenge for myself and learn a song for it.
UncleHammy hasn't visited the site in 3 weeks, let's hope he is doing well.
Here's my suggestion: I vote for @Nutty 1 to select the new theme and I would be happy to create the new thread and copy the recordings in the first post as they are added, until UncleHammy comes back.
I agree, @guitarben. I also got a bit concerned about @UncleHammy not being around for so long.
So let's continue his initiative till he is back.

Awesome stuff @Wim VD1 ! Both your recent recordings are great! I've heard you develop even further in such a short time. It's very encouraging... I may just look closer at that LMG Blues course thats been lurking on my computer hard drive just waiting for me...
Thanks, Neil.
Many LMG elements come together when learning these blues solos: lessons 13 (blues) and 19 (soloing), the Speed and Agility workouts and the LMBG course. They all pay off in the end ?.

This is the 5th solo from the BGU blues course. It's again in G, and combining major and minor pentatonics.
One more solo to learn, and then up to a Classic Rock course.

Hey Danny,
I like it. It has a great groove. Did you play the drums on a drum kit or did you program it?
One fine day I would like to learn to play bass guitar as well.
