  1. Kevin this is a remarkable recording , brilliantly performed. Such a talent.... Nicely done as well Nutty. Your growth, confidence and progress are quite evident as a player and singer . I enjoyed this interpretation of a Prince classic. Ian’s commentary on recording is spot on. Not only does this apply to recording but translates to performance as well. It is quite challenging to play (and sing) flawlessly in every instance, in every outing. The musicians I have played with comment about this routinely but our goals are always to attempt our best efforts and accept our shortcomings and mistakes with both joyfulness and humor. We all do this for fun here. Greg
  2. Ha ha... pro? Not even close, but very fortunate to have acquired a bunch of musical friends who like to share music with each other. Just got word that we have several inquiries already to play at other venues in town. Holy smokes. I have foot surgery in 2 weeks with 6 weeks on full crutches. This could be interesting..... Greg I am looking forward to hanging with my song writing buddy also, Ian. It’s going to be fun
  3. Thx for the advice. I will check it out. My sister took a photo and tried to send me a video but it didn’t come through to me. Me, with the hat... looks pretty serious with 3 shoe gazers
  4. My video-taking son couldn’t make it. A snow event last night, not common here , kept him home. Many photos and videos by others in attendance including the bar owners son. I am trying to see what I can round up. Time for a Facebook page Greg
  5. Awesome post Neil. I am late to thanking you for this . I will be reviewing all of this over the next few week There is much to review and new to learn Greg
  6. Nicely done. Very smooth and with good meter. Thx for sharing Greg
  7. Last night my little acoustic trio had its first public gig. We played at a private party last summer but this was our first go at an open event at a small brewer in town. Microbreweries are big in the Northwest and this is one of them . The place was packed when we arrived and we added our own friends and families , so space was very limited for us to set up in. That said, we had a great time and everyone seemed to really enjoy our Americana style of music. Not without a few hiccups but only the musically astute would notice. I was exhausted after singing and playing while standing for two plus hours. I am an old man now ?. The owner loved us and wants us back. Tomorrow I go looking for a stooll Greg
  8. Chris Stapleton does a brilliant version with his wife. Greg
  9. Outstanding Kevin. What a musical treat for you to share with us. This is going to be one of my favorites from the forum for certain. Golden voices and beautiful guitar work. Well done!....and thanks for letting us share in your musical experience with Isa. Greg
  10. Congrats Brian. You will have a great time. It's a very positive crowd and the itinerary is always first class. Looking forward to meeting new folks at The Gathering myself. Greg
  11. Get ready for a boatload of fun, Ian. Can't wait to meet you . Greg
  12. Hey Curtis, another Washingtonian here. Looking forward to meeting you in Nashville. It will be fun. Greg
  13. Beautiful Amy. Very smooth and flawless. Very nice hand position and of course the "classical guitar" placement. Watching your fingers is like a watching a skilled tennis stroke in efficiency. Very nice. Greg
  14. Love the originality Danny. Double stops, swells, bends, arpeggios- you got them all in. Good stuff! Greg
  15. So cool for you and deserved. It really is a very well done contribution to the universe of music and my favorite from this forum. Greg
  16. Like Six, I have gone mostly digital, but still have varied amps around that I toy with on occasion. My favorite small amp is a Swart STR. A 5 watter, beautiful crystal-like reverb and tremolo, but little headroom, so definitely a bedroom amp unless mic'd up . I have found no better clean tone, and I have been able to reproduce it with my Kemper profiler amp. Greg
  17. I will be returning this year, Ian. Missed last year (my wife had surgery, had to cancel) but made it there the previous 2 years. It is a wonderful experience if the opportunity ever comes up for you , and the Nashville area is vital, breathing musical mecca for people like us who thrive on live music. Happy holidays, friend! Greg
  18. I'm thinking this is the year for you.? Greg
  19. Outstanding Ian. My wife's favorite song! Nice vocals as always and great timing on the instrumentals. Hope someday you can spring across the wide Atlantic and share your talents in Nashville at some future Guitar Gathering. What a treat that would be for all. I need to break out the recording mic myself again someday....it's been a long time away from it for me. Greg
  20. Love this song, One of the staples in the Blues genre, sure to show up at any open jam. Nice lead work and accompaniment. A great rendition of this classic. Thanks for sharing Greg
  21. Love Tele's... Have fun with it and congrats Greg
  22. Wow, such great news Dan. So glad you are well again and inspired to jump into playing again. We missed you. Best wishes on your health and good music. Greg
  23. Well done Danny and Wim. You guys are really talented and I love listening to your stuff. Thanks for sharing. Sorry to hear about the band challenges Danny. Seems to be a common thing but it is always inspiring to find new connections and reenergize the music. Best wishes on the new band. Greg
