  1. I have just received a message from mark_h asking me to convey his apologies to the contributors of this thread because due to a technical problem Mark can not navigate to this page (it just times out). Mark will be very busy this next month and will not have the time to work on forum technical problems.
  2. Well done Greg that is superb. Looks like heaps of fun and it sounds great.😎👏👏👏
  3. Here is my go at "Have you ever seen the rain" (doing a Rod Stewart). 😁
  4. Wow Ian, that is amazing. Your hard work and practice has really paid off. Well done! I find it hard enough playing and singing while recording to my laptop!
  5. Wow @Wim VD1 that is an interesting piece, I have never heard that before. Well played, great sound!😎👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
  6. Thank you Wim. Hummmmmmm it looks like I will have to think of something 🤔
  7. Thank you Ian. That wig was so long it took me a few takes because it got in the way of my strumming a few times and when I put the guitar on top of it to get it away from the strings it was so slippery that the guitar started to slide off of my lap. I bet Cher never had that problem. 🤣
  8. I am sneaking in on the last day wearing a black wig to play "Dark Lady"
  9. Hello everyone, This months theme comes from mark_h he wrote "Its between 37C and 42C everyday here. 🥵 It’s always a furnace up in the hills and only 30c on the coast. all I can think of is wonderful cool rain! So I suggest that for this months challenge we cover a song with the word ”Rain”, in the title or lyrics." This challenge ends on the last day of August. Give us something to listen to. 🌧 ☔️ 1) Wim VD1 playing "Black Hole Sun" 2) Nutty 1 playing "Have you ever seen the rain" 3) Watson43 playing "The story in your eyes"
  10. @Old Guy I am so sorry that this has happened to you. That is rough. I am glad that you are thinking of ways to get your guitar playing up and running again.
  11. Superb @Wim VD1, I enjoyed that. Excellently played. 😎👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Aw I was hoping for a video of you playing it with the view in the background!😁
  12. Oh Danny I am so very sorry to hear that this has happened to you. Please do not worry about the song, you have far more important things to do. I am glad that you are safe. Your neighbour knew what you needed, turn to your guitar when you need a lift.
  13. Looks great Randy, thank you for sharing your opinion on it. Enjoy!🎛😎🎸
  14. Thank you for posting this @IanD. I was turned down by my teacher after I auditioned for my school choir.🤓 I always said that I was no good at music until about 4 years ago when I got the "itch" to start playing guitar. Previous to that I did not even know the notes of the musical alphabet or that there was more than 1 C on a piano.😁 I always enjoyed singing to pop songs when I was on my own though. I hope the video above and my story helps to motivate others.
  15. That is a tricky decision. I am not a Martin owner or expert but I can offer you a really daft way to see if you have a real preference lurking in the back of your mind. Get two small pieces of paper and write the guitar model names, one on each piece, and then put the two bits of paper in a bag and randomly draw one out. Now tell yourself that you must buy the guitar on that bit of paper. If you are disappointed by the choice then but the other one. If not buy the one on the paper. Of course if you really are on the fence it will not help 🤔
  16. Well done Greg, I bet you guys had a blast! Great photo.
  17. Really lovely @mark_h I enjoyed that. Yep, your office looks great!
  18. If you wanted something at a lower price range Yamaha do the THR5A, I have one in my practice space, and I like it. It gets pretty good reviews too: https://www.guitarfella.com/yamaha-thr5a-review/ https://www.musicradar.com/reviews/guitars/yamaha-thr5a-567701 https://getacoustic.com/yamaha-thr5a-review-acoustic-guitar-amp/
  19. Wow @gotto I love it! I am glad that it is only fiction 😁
  20. Wow, you wrote that! Beautiful Ian, what errors?😁 I love it 😍
  21. So you did not even have to tell her that they didn't have photoshop all those years ago when that photograph was taken. 😁🤓😎
