For those of you interested in the history of the man Les Paul and all his classic sounds along with who he has played with.. its an oldie but well worth documentary see 'Les Paul Chasing Sound" wow just wow what I learned about the man and all his sounds including who he played with. It is about an hour and 45 minutes long so see it when you have some time.  Just saw George Gruhn made a guest appearance talking about the Les Paul at about 12 minutes before the end.

Perfect timing, @columbo.  I just watched part of it on AXS TV.  A lot of interesting guest interviewees on the documentary.  As you say, " well worth documentary".   You don't have to be a Gibson fan to find it interesting.  The man was a genius coming up with other inventions besides the namesake guitar such as the 8 track recorder.

That is a great documentary of Les Paul. I learned a lot about him and his impact on the guitar and music industry.

Les is more. An inventor, innovator, and a great guitar player.

Oh no, wasn't it the 8 track that got us into trouble the last time. I read a book a few years back which detailed the amazing life of Les Paul, I think it was titled, "The legacy of Les Paul", can't remember the author (may have been through Gibson). It was a great read. If I'm not mistaken Les Paul has one of the few stand alone displays at the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame. That is another check for the bucket list.

I shouldn't have said "8 track".  It wasn't the player but the "multi-track" recorder for studio recording that he came up with.
