I'd say don't spend 20min on Speed/Agility and 15 on Session 4 lessons. Increase Sessions 4 &4bonus time [Edit: Neil below has a good point, if I had learned say 5-10 songs well , I could be playing them on weekends I'm away from home and with relatives that don't want to hear lesson plinking]

I haven't used the trio a lot (seems like I'm acoustic in the house, electric in the car. ) I think my strumming is consistent but I find I can't get the beat of the Trio down well. but that's for a different thread discussion than this Band in Box.

Working S10 "bonus" tonight No issues with Steve's finger patterns, but you find out how bad your barre chords sound this way. ?

Steve uses many "non-standard " strumming patterns that are pretty hard rhythmically. You'll have to decide when you've "captured " rhythm

not many post in the Learn and Master Guitar Segment of Guitar Gathering forum, and anything above Session 7 (and even more so above Session 10) it starts to get really lonely in the higher sessions. Although Tommy Cash just responded to the Fretboard Series on the Money Chords workout that it goes along with LMG Advanced Strumming lessons

I booked my tickets for Tonawanda NY (beside Buffalo NY) to see Rik Emmett and David Dunlop on Dec 1 quite some time ago, since there was no announcement of any Toronto dates. made for a weekend away.. and he's one fine player (and story teller) then a couple of weeks after we booked "Buffalo" , he announced he was playing Hugh's Room Toronto on Jan 26,, well the dates are close together and usually I get the line "You just saw XYZ you don't need to see the again." (yes I'm still trying to get to see Bonamassa for the 1,000 time.. no luck yet) well I didn't get that.. I got.. "Book it.. " probably since tickets are like $35 each. since Hugh's room holds like 200 people , it goes fast. so done.. Dec 1 in Buffalo, Jan 26 in Toronto.. should be great.. then last week (maybe 2 now) Rik Emmett announced he is "retiring" and the next 10 shows will be his last for some time to come. he said on his gig Saturday night (watched the recording) that he's tired of planes and hotels, and esp hotel check-in. and he wants to walk on the beach of Hawaii with his wife. he said he hates when someone says "I'm retiring, this is my retirement tour.. buy my tickets" and then 2 yrs later they're on retirement tour #2.. he said.. he's been playing since 14 and professionally since 17,, now at 65 its time for him to slow it down. He's not sure if/when he'll play live again. (since he lives just outside of Toronto, it'd be nice if he'd play Hugh's Room once in a while.) The Toronto show should be interesting since his family usually comes to the shows as it's only a 40min drive there from his house in Mississauga ON; the announced 1 last show on Jan 27 which will be his very last show.. (I'll be has second last show) I'm glad I have tickets to 2 shows now..

S10 update, with only 2 kids in a children's choir last year the choir director said.. that's all folks. no choir,, So now I've been working on LMG stuff again after really 4yrs detour with choir. so all summer I've been working Song Hits (Day Tripping and Pretty Woman need to smooth out to record), week ago I started S10 in Ernst. so all 3 finger patterns at 92 bpm.. peace of cake.. Travis picking.. hmm.. work in progress, not sure bpm maybe 72,, guessing but it needs to be a lot faster than that, but I now have thumb picks in my studio, car and van.. so when time comes... break a thumb. Giuliani Study's .. going to have metronome it.. bet I'm well past 60bpm recommendation.. that leave's House of Rising Sun.. pretty easy.. been playing it for years.. should break out the jam cd and find out how wrong I am on this comment. Etude in D and Cannon in D.. although not 'hard' chords.. the speed in which they're played will be my stumbling block for a while... We'll see how long I stay here before bailing to Session 11.

I don't think bridge pins alone made the Guitar Center Taylor test. it was the bone nut, bone saddle/bridge and the bridge pins combined that changed tone and sustain..

That's a nice guitar, I hear there are 2 versions, one with midi and one without, Without would lower the price, but unless you need midi (I don't) nice guitar Second that vote for a LoudBox amp

Guitar Center was advertising a upgrade service a couple of years ago. They had 2 Taylor's, one stock, the other had nut, saddles, bridge and pins all replaced, and had them side by side on the display. My sister and I could both hear the difference between the 2, we liked the "GC upgraded" one better.

Can't imagine them playing power chord rock either

I wouldn't mind cranking the amp up so I could hear my mistakes more, but not being in a detached house with next door with a 1yr old doesn't help.

I sometimes don't see the course as linear as Session 1 to Session 2 to Session 3.. as your skill increases you'll want to skip ahead (esp above session 9) .. learn something new that peaks your interest but might not grasp the concept/skill at that time. then you jump back and work something that wasn't just quite right when you were there, then move forward again.. remember as skills are learned we use them, here and there. (pss.. also Steve has said the "master" in Learn and Master .. was just a name they came up with.. don't trip over the "I didn't master X session") the learning , adjusting, re-learning, never stops.. I'm nowhere near Session 17, but now that I'm not playing in my choir every week, is allowing me to go back to areas that are week and re-learn/re-adjust them and move forward all at the same time.

I think depending on the density of the material the sound could brighten or darken or stay the same depends on Wood, bone, fossil.. etc. I changed my pins from plastic to bone,, just cause plastic is cheap.. and bone is a natural product

I was really meaning for solid body electrics, but most acoustics also have a solid block of wood for the end pin to go into as well.. some acoustics do not, always best to know your guitar.
