  1. @Beatup6String I had tendonitis for 6 weeks last year. It took 6 weeks of rest for the pain to go away. Relax and rest. Most of the pain killers did not work. I found Aspercreme with Lidocaine really eased the pain. Take it easy for a while.
  2. You can also call your mom!
  3. @matonanjin Several members of the old L&M Guitar forum used Jamkazam in the past. Maybe one of them will chime in on the subject. Yes slow internet could be an issue, but you don't know until you try. You can also try running a speed test like this: https://www.speedtest.net/ which will give you an idea if the speed is enough. If you can use a streaming service like Netflix then you can probably Skype and maybe Jamkazam.
  4. I spent last night jamming with my friend over the internet. We had fun for almost 2 hours. If you have a computer with a camera, and a distant friend to jam with then Skype might be the answer. It is pretty easy to use once it is installed on both computers. You can chat, call, and video call. I use it for chat and video call which is free and you just need the friends e-mail address to connect.
  5. I added this small 8” 20w cab to my Orange Crush Mini. Man it is amazing the big sound you get from 3 watts. I only use the volume and gain at the halfway point which is very loud. The Crush isn’t exactly a head so it doesn’t fit nicely on top. I would have liked a 12” speaker, but this is the cheapest cab I can find. The Fender cab has a 12”, but it is twice the price of the Orange.
  6. No I pretty much stay with the string gauge the guitar was designed for. My Les Paul has 10's, Ovation acoustic uses Lights 11's, Taylor GS Mini uses medium. If I get a guitar in the future with 9's then I will use them.
  7. Guitar lessons with Keith Urban
  8. I just read Martin Guitar has temporarily closed because of COVID-19. No new Martin guitars for a while.
  9. She said "Yes". The rest is history. Enjoy the new Martin.
  10. @DianeB Splash! LOL! I bet you play much better than you think. You also have better theory knowledge than most of the people in the forum. I had very basic goals when I started, but I was determined. I practice and play often. I have exceeded all of my original goals, and I am still learning all the time. Am I perfect? No, but perfection is not required.
  11. Do We All Hate Our Own Guitar Playing? I don't, I gave up perfection long ago.
  12. I played with the Orange Crush Mini for 1 hour a day over the last few weeks. The single 9v battery lasted almost 3 weeks before I noticed the built-in tuner would not recognize my low E string. Then the volume started to drop off noticeably. I plugged the amp in for the first time and the volume came roaring back. I played with several effects pedals, and the little Orange was better than expected. The small speaker breaks up easily when you play hard, but playing with a lighter touch cleans it up nicely. Of course the amp also has a mean distorted sound. I definitely plan to add a speaker cabinet in the future.
  13. Nicely done Maria. I hope you will get rehired soon. Stay healthy!
  14. @matonanjin You are welcome. I never liked Ultimate Guitar in the past. Like Desi says there is a lot of wrong information on most tab sites so I rarely visit them anymore. I didn't realize the Ultimate Guitar Pro account had such good tools for a really good price. I might have to join myself.
  15. The Fishman peel is its main weakness. It would be sweet with hardwood sides. Has anyone complained about this? I assumed I was the only one.
  16. I like my Fishman Loudbox Mini, and it definitely peels.
  17. Why not? It's your style. If it feels comfortable then why not? Can you strum easily in that position? People have played that way for a long time. Have you ever tried one of those foot rests, or the stand for your leg? I say go for it if it works for you. It would be interesting to see what Steve Krenz thinks.
  18. Small turns only, tune, and recheck. Looking down the neck it should look straight with just a slight inward curve. You can also use the strings as a straight edge by pressing down on fret 1 and 14.
  19. @NeilES335 I have The Beatles Anthology and 'Til There Was You is one of my favorites.
  20. I spent some time this weekend with the Orange Crush Mini connected to the Boss GT-1. The little amp worked well with the multi-effects pedal.
  21. Loosen your truss rod 1/4 turn. You need more bow in the neck.
