  1. I have a very nice Taylor NC24ce. The guitar thrives on fingerstyle. You can play most styles short of full on metal mode. Yamaha makes excellent entry level nylon string guitars. Steve Stevens shredding nylon
  2. I always come back to V-Picks. I have the V-Pick acoustic and electric packs which gives you a great selection of picks. V-Picks do not slip in my experience. I would definitely buy V-Picks again.
  3. For acoustics I am a Taylor fan. I am curious about the new Taylor V bracing. I would like to have Andy Powers make my next guitar. For electrics I go with Gibson. I love my Gibson Les Paul Studio. I dream of getting a ES-335 in Cherry Red of course. I have great respect for Martin. I wouldn't mind a Fender Strat either.
  4. I want one! I think it would be a great way to add a second guitar with single coils to give me the Tele/Strat like tone. For the price of a pedal you can get a really nice guitar. It's perfect for first electric guitar for beginners.
  5. A Les Paul for $99. Watch the video. https://www.premierguitar.com/articles/26607-epiphone-les-paul-sl-review
  6. I don't have one, but I played a T5 and a T5z. The T5 feels more like an acoustic then electric. The action is fairly high, but the T5 is easier to play than a standard acoustic probably because the strings are lighter. The T5z feels more like an electric guitar. Both play well with a wide range of tones.
  7. Robben is great, and he has a lot of good lessons.
  8. Any number of small amps have a headphone jack and give you more versatility. The little plug in amps are not bad for practice, but they can't go any further.
  9. Thank you for listening! The Peavey amp is everything I hoped it would be. All the hours practicing pentatonic, major scales, and 3 notes on a string are finally helping me learn all the notes on the neck. I can even make sense of the notes from time to time. Still having fun!
  10. I finally got to record me Peavey Classic 30. Here is a couple samples from my Sound Check. The first is just a simple rock rhythm I came up with last night. Maybe someday it will be a song, but for now it is what it is... The second track adds the Flashback Delay pedal. I am just improvising for the fun of it!!!
  11. Great Tips! I am doing the three notes on a string exercises in Session 17. Calling out the notes and playing the different scales around the neck is really helping. I am getting closer to knowing where are all the notes on the neck. I never would have imagined that.
  12. Good for you. I have all the workouts. They are actually fun as they slowly push you to do more. They really help you learn those scales too.
  13. When you have a little more skill I recommend either "Guitar Recorded Version" or "Authentic Tab Version" of your favorite artist. These advanced books have all the details in music notation, tab, tunings, effects, and multiple guitar parts.
