  1. Thank you @Eracer_Team-DougH@NeilES335 Neil, for my recordings I have a 14 channel mixer. It is made by soundcraft and is able to record directly to my software. The software or DAW I use is Studio one 3.5 artist. As far as recording all the parts, I mic up real drums most of the times, however on some cases i use a drum pad if the drum parts are not that complicated. The pad is just too slow for me. How i record the drums, I make a recording of the original song in my DAW and play along with the song. Then i record the bass and that is plugged in to my amp and i use the direct outs on the line 6 amp. then it goes to my mixer which i can EQ it before it is sent to the DAW which that then is also EQ. I don't add any plugins for the bass parts. I try to keep it simple. Acoustic guitar, I mic up and use the direct outs on the amp and mix them later. I add Reverb,eq,compression,etc... Electric guitar, I used 71 fender tele, its got a great sound for the old school country songs. the amp is a Line 6 and i use the built in affects. That is mic'd in front of the speaker and i also use the direct outs and mix the two later. I don't use plugins that much. I try to keep the sound pretty raw. I'll add different eq's and compression that came with my DAW. That's it basically, hope it helps. Danny

  2. The Beatles song, about “Dr Feel Good” the pill pushing doc, is written in the key of A. The key center is B, so the song is in the B mixolydian mode. The chords in the song are A7 and D/E, at least on the first page of the sheet music. Can someone shed some light on why the key center is B.

  3. as we all know.. a sucker is born everyday.. I already told my kids and grandkids.. just keep all the guitars I have in good shape, case and all paperwork.. and they will have something after we have moved on.. this auction web site just confirms that. Wow..

  4. Thanks, I was thinking, since the chord progression didn’t start on the one chord (A) that it might be the reason it was a modal progression. I had’t given much though to the melody notes, since they don’t appear to make a difference. They are chord tones. Edit.... Looking through the Beatle’s complete song book I see that the original song started with A7, F#7.The V chord in B mixolldian is F#7. Another chord in the progression was the B. I now realize the mistake of just looking at on-line sheet music sites.

  5. I will take a shot . the song is in the key of A . B is the key center. That makes the song in A Mixolydian Mode. Which is B. A7 chord matches The B note Better then The A Chord . But you can not change the Key to B. Because all the notes would have to be changed. and it would be B mixolydian Mode. Which is C. B Mixolydian mode Sounds better over the A7 Chord.and there is no A7 Note on the guitar. Just a A7 chord. Thats my Guess.

  6. The thought was, originally, that since I've been working some of these techniques, that I wouldn't be here long. So much for that theory. I got distracted by some other things, guitar, health and family. So I have been away from this session for months. But the beginning of last week I started over. Dare I say, "I don't think I'll be here too long"?! 🙄 Ok. I won't say it. But I'm back!

  7. Wow, what a nice recording and exceptional play in every regards! I am really enjoying your contributions and would echo Nutty's thoughts about the vocals. Nothing to be self conscious about-sounds great, man. Greg
