Yeah, it's mostly click bait.  And I have no idea what "The Delite" is or how they are qualified to quantify this.  And we know who #1 is.  He is #1 on every "greatest guitarists" list.  But with all that said, any thoughts?  Any surprises?

For me one surprise was 93 year old Elizabeth Cotton won a Grammy.  I had never heard of her.  And Joni Mitchell on a greatest guitarist list?  She is certainly a hugely influential folk musician.  I'm not saying she doesn't belong on the list.  I'm saying I don't have sufficient knowledge of her playing to comment.

I’m not a big G.O.A.T. fan on most any topic, especially guitarists.  Electric lead guitarists tend to dominate these discussions and highly talented artists of jazz, classical, and acoustical focus get overlooked.
Joni was one to explore different tunings galore and Cotton was an early 1900s folk blues woman playing songs like Freight Train.

Jimi was an amazing guitarist; but when I’m on the back porch on a summer evening with a beverage of choice and music gets played, Hendrix is not in my top 50 artists of choice.

I'm not into the GOAT thing, either, especially from the clowns who came up with this list, lol. I mean, Chet Atkins at #23? Seriously? And my all-time favorite isn't even on the list.

Overall with this list for what group it’s aimed at, looks ok to me.

not surprisingly how much the 60’s dominate things as the musical revolution that started in the 50s, transformed basically everything we hear today is from the 60s .

remember eventually the music in old folks homes will be Sex Pistols punk then transformed in to rap

A highly subjective topic ... greatest of all time at what genre? Jazz artist like Joe Pass, with his stunning chord melody playing, and Wes Montgomery's beautiful melodic ' octaves techniques are conspicuously absent from this so-called greatest list.   If you've never heard either of them, do yourself a treat and like them up!

Most of my favorites are there (Prince, JImi, Santana, BB King, Clapton, Slash)

A few others that I like, not on the list:

Angus Young

Steve Vai

Buddy Guy

George Benson

Ana Vidovic (Classical)
