  1. I updated my first take. Take 2 has less mistakes, and less finger noise.
  2. A Little Less Conversation "A Little More Action Please" - Elvis Presley Taylor NS24ce nylon string Fishman Loudbox Mini
  3. It is a good little lesson. I especially like the little "38 Special" style chord progression which is now in my bag of tricks.
  4. Rock on! The Music Theory of POWER CHORDS
  5. @Triple-o He is using the capo to show you the relationship between the pentatonic and the notes of chord form.
  6. @Six String Thanks for the tips. I am still trying to figure out how to get the sound I want. My Peavey Classic 30 also has a built in Drive and dirty channel. Things can get nasty in a hurry.
  7. I went to buy a Tube Screamer from my local music store, but they didn't have any in stock. The salesperson recommended the East River Drive pedal. I decided to go for it, and I am glad I did. Frankly, I am not that good using this type of effect yet so I was happy that it only cost $69 to purchase. I was also happy to find Premier Guitar gave it a strong review. Check out John Bohlinger as he puts the pedal through the test. If you are looking for an inexpensive overdrive pedal maybe the East River Drive is a good choice for you. 8. THIS is how you learn the PENTATONICS A different practice method.
  9. @matonanjin You are welcome. The ES-335 is still high on my list of dream guitars.
  10. John Bohlinger and Greg Voros discuss these sweet guitars. Axes & Artifacts - Gibson ’58 & ’61 ES-335 & ’60 ES-330
  11. Playing In Every Mode with ONE Tiny Scale Shape Interesting...
  12. Greg is not measuring string height when he capos at the first fret and holds the sting at the 12th. The video shows the 14th fret. He is using that step to judge how straight the neck is. He also taps at the 7th and uses a piece of paper to make sure the neck isn't too bowed or needs more straightening. I usually take a peek at parts of the DVD when I do my latest setups. There are a lot of steps during the setup especially on electric guitars which is why I review it. Adjusting string height (action) is done at the saddle on most guitars; Taylor NT necks excluded. If you think about it holding down fret 1 and 12 doesn't tell you about string height because now your holding the string down on the neck at two different points which will obviously lower the strings. He says hold down the string at the 1st fret and measure the distance to the bottom of the string from the top of the fret wire at the twelfth fret. Greg made it very clear that there is not a certified standard for luthiers or guitar techs. Many techs can get by without following Greg's method exactly. I myself have all my guitars in great shape. Mostly I use Greg's method, but on my nylon acoustic I add Taylor's string tie method and a few other tips I learned along the way. The bottom line is you can become your best guitar tech with a little research and a few inexpensive tools.
  13. Fingerstyle is awesome. Steve method teaches you an easy way to make all your chords sing.
  14. Guitar and bass amps are very different. Why not get your Ampeg repaired?
  15. Rik Emmett from Triumph guitar lesson. "Lay It On The Line" Guitar Lesson by Triumph's Rik Emmett
  16. Well done Danny! Good effort Nutty! I recommend you stop looking at your fretting hand so much while playing. You are playing the chords fine so believe in yourself.
  17. You should be more specific about which chord you are playing. If you mean G2 then welcome to the club. Your hands are not too small. The G2 is one of the hardest chords to play. It seems your alternatives are just as hard as the G2. I think you should keep practicing. It could take months to master the G2. I still haven't mastered it.
  18. @Eracer_Team-DougH @dave Sorry guys that is different. I was wondering why someone was thinking about L&M Guitar after they already joined the forum. L&M is taken around here.?
  19. Watch out Dave. There is two different versions of L&M Guitar. The cheap one has only 10 DVD disks, but the expensive one has 20. There is also an older version with SD video, and a newer Gibson version with HD video. The instruction is the same, but don't cheat yourself by getting a good deal on half the material.
  20. @moopapa Your plan is pretty good, but don't spread yourself too thin. Anytime you spend away from L&M Guitar will prolong the course. You are still learning, but the main course is real work to complete. Another thing to consider is L&M The Song Hits. Steve put together lessons and tab for 2 songs per L&M Guitar session. There are a lot of good songs which steadily get more challenging. He has If and Hallelujah which are great fingerstyle songs. Recording yourself really helps your development. Hallelujah Nylon
  21. @Magnit Yeah it really looks like it is sculpted from a single piece of wood. It's a beauty.
