  1. That is a shame Doug. Don't give up on the ukulele though, there are always online lessons. I an doing a couple of Udemy ones at the moment. As you are an accomplished guitar playing the switch to ukulele will not be a problem, you should still be able to play at the Hawaiian party. Have fun with it. I am loving mine.
  2. Wow! Great start @Eracer_Team-DougH. I am still having fun with my ukuleles.
  3. Great cartoon! ?Even cheap guitars feel like that when I pick them up!??
  4. That looks good @S Bach, thank you for telling us about it. It has some great training features, the one where it misses a bar will be brilliant!
  5. Thank you @CapM for your advice. I am going to have to really learn to play and sing (and both at the same time ?). Buying this kit is my incentive to stick at it! If I can train myself to sing on key then the harmonies will be great!
  6. Thank you for the tip @Eracer_Team-DougH I will not download the Pro Tools. I will probably wimp out and keep using my Garageband.?
  7. Thank you Neil, I will order it today! Cool!???
  8. Thank you @Fretless and @matonanjin for your sage advice. I will definitely not get the solo. I will look at the 2i2 and 2i4 models and see what they go for.
  9. Hello All, I am thinking about getting a Focusrite Scarlett and then some time in the future getting a Boss Ve2 vocal harmonist so that I can make video recordings of me singing and playing guitar at the same time. The Boss VE2 does not process the guitar signal but outputs it separately. If I plug the guitar output from the Boss into 1 Scarlett port and the vocal output into the other port would that work? https://smile.amazon.co.uk/Boss-VE-2-Vocal-Harmonist-Pedal/dp/B00K6ZI0JC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1548490125&sr=8-1&keywords=boss+ve2 Thank you folks, have a great weekend.

  12. Welcome @ozy I am glad that you have made it over here! I look forward to hearing more about your guitar journey and reading your future posts.
  13. Welcome @Greg800 and Wife, thank you for telling us about your guitar journey. Yes learning guitar is a labour intensive operation, it is not for the weak willed! But as you say, it is incredibly rewarding. I know that my life has been enriched by it. I look forward to reading more posts from you and your Wife. Keep up the good work and don't forget to learn some more songs along the way to keep it fun.
  14. Congratulations Danny, well done! Your hard work and determination has payed dividends. ???????????
  15. Here is my offering "I Love the Wintertime" It is an original composed, played and sang by me using all real instruments except the drums and the sea waves sound (see below). I actually used a ukulele to do the bass (a Kala Rumbler UBass). This track was composed using "Sea Waves" audio recording (Attribution 3.0) by Mike Koenig http://soundbible.com/885-Sea-Waves.html. I used an EQ to take out some of the lower frequencies so that it would fit well into my composition. ??Merry Christmas Everyone??, I hope you have a great day whatever you are doing.
  16. Beautiful @Mike Hoodenpyle really well played. I enjoyed listening to those. A very Merry Christmas to you too!
  17. I have a Macbook and I use Garageband. I am just starting to learn how to use the advanced features (with the help of a Udemy course). My microphone is a Rhode NT-USB as I have very limited space and power sockets! I sometimes record through my Yamaha THR5 and sometimes through an iRig2 which will work with a Macbook if you plug the right Apple headphones into it before you plug it into the Macbook. You have to tell Garageband to use "system settings" and also go into the Macbooks sound input to check the input level but it is easy and works well enough for me.
  18. I like that @Texaspackerfan a new take on a classic song, well played, great work.
  19. Of course, that goes without saying!
