  1. Here is me having a go at Simon and Garfunkel's Scarborough Fair on my Cordoba F7. This arrangement is by Muriel Anderson. I have been learning this on and off for months now, it is far from perfect. It has been a long and hard journey for me but I am really pleased to have got it this far. Do not adjust your sets folks, it is a rough recording in mono. I used one microphone into the Scarlet 2i2.

  2. Last night my little acoustic trio had its first public gig. We played at a private party last summer but this was our first go at an open event at a small brewer in town. Microbreweries are big in the Northwest and this is one of them . The place was packed when we arrived and we added our own friends and families , so space was very limited for us to set up in. That said, we had a great time and everyone seemed to really enjoy our Americana style of music. Not without a few hiccups but only the musically astute would notice. I was exhausted after singing and playing while standing for two plus hours. I am an old man now ?. The owner loved us and wants us back. Tomorrow I go looking for a stooll Greg

  3. Thx for the advice. I will check it out. My sister took a photo and tried to send me a video but it didn’t come through to me. Me, with the hat... looks pretty serious with 3 shoe gazers

  4. If any of you have read any of my other posts or book reviews you know Roy Rogers played a big part in my life as my boyhood ideal. I found this picture the other day of Roy and Dale Evans with Roy's sisters and his parents. His mom suffered with polio, which also added to his workload as he grew up in the backwoods of Ohio. He use to talk about how the only entertainment the family had was singing and playing musical instruments (his folks taught him to play several instruments). When I saw his mother holding that guitar her fingers said this wasn't necessarily a posed picture that this old gal could bang out a song on that instrument.

  6. I'm not sure why they would have been in Omaha but I met Roy Rogers and, more importantly, Trigger when I was young. As I understand it Roy Rogers would often take Trigger to hospitals to visit sick kids. We have the "Boys Town" of movie fame here. Maybe Roy and Trigger were doing some sort of similar visit here for the resident boys. But that would have been quite the trip to haul Trigger that far from Hollywood to Nebraska! They must have opened it up to the public because my mother took me to see them. One of those "etched in" memories of my youth.

  7. O.K. I have to breakdown and put up my young pictures. That was my first guitar ... only wished I had had the support to play it then that I receive now.

  8. I was a Roy Rogers fan when I was a boy. I named my first pony "Trigger," and here he is.
