Fall Fingerstyle Retreat Anticipation Thread

Recommended Posts

Super excited to come and enjoy the week at the Fingerstyle Retreat! I can't wait!

One thing I was wondering about, for those of you who have been before, is - what should we bring? Beyond the obvious things, I was wondering if there is a need to bring things like a music stand or a guitar stand, as some people had recommended for the summer Gathering. Are those things useful at the Fingerstyle retreat, or is this close enough quarters and an intimate setting, to where they aren't needed?

See you there!

Definitely bring a guitar stand - there will not be enough space in the main lodge room for everyone to bring in their guitar cases. I believe some individuals brought music stands last year - however, there is not a lot of room to spread out. I did not use a music stand last year. Seating will be somewhat tight with 20 of us there.

Last year's retreat was the best guitar-related event I have ever attended. It is an awesome setting, we had super musical guests and instructors, and it was a nice opportunity to spend quality time with good friends. Oh - and the food was pretty good too. This year's agenda looks even better!

Thanks for the advice Dave. I like to travel light anyway!

Hope to hear some more soon about the content and what we can expect to learn. I'm sure Steve has an awesome program for us. I'm not a good fingerstyle player but I'm hoping this sends me on my way!

Looks like we have some great weather in store and every slot is full for the retreat. I’m very excited. And who is this very special guest?? Inquiring minds want to know! ?

I am heading out tomorrow morning - look forward to seeing you there.

Regarding the special guest - I can narrow down the possibilities by one - it is not me. ?
