So after a judge granted Gibson bankruptcy protection, much of their problems due to an acquisition feeding frenzy, they acquire another company?  I'm not saying this is a bad acquisition.  At least it is core guitar/music company unlike some of consumer electronics businesses Juszkiewicz went after.

But I wonder what Gibson's bondholders and other lenders are thinking right now.  I wonder if the bankruptcy trustee had to approve the purchase.

As a Boogie owner of some 30 years I am saddened by this news. Randall Smith has been an innovative leader of Mesa Boogie, not the same story as Gibson Brands.

Old Gibson amps are quite sought after... I've wondered why they got out of the amp business years ago. I guess they couldnt compete with Fender. Mesa has a good reputation and it's a good fit business wise. Not my style of amp, but I hope Gibson make a go it.
