  1. Hi Neil, and Wim.

Ditto @Wim VD1. When I finished the course I did ask the same question, now what. It was a long road for me but I did have some experience before starting his course so I was filing in a lot gaps. I still use it for reference from time to time.  I thought of taking his blues class but for me I seem to improvise and learn blues pretty fast. I struggled improvising in country music for some reason. this past year I've spent some time on chicken pickin and that's what I have been study. Im not even close to where I need to be but I know with PPP (patience, perseverance, and practice) I will get there. In this part of my surroundings is all country based so the need to play country is a must, mix with blues.

I was playing a weekly gig at the local pub but it since went under. But now we have a BBQ joint that wants live music so I am trying to get a band together to play some Saturday nights. So ive got to some how handle learning new concepts as well as new material for the singer that wants to do, really its not that hard to play most of the songs he wants to play. but I love a challenge.

Well, I guess folks out there studying Steve's course hang in there and take one step at a time. learning to play what you love isn't easy but nothing is. hang in there, you can achieve your goals what they may be.

As Wim said, Lets see where it goes from here.

P.S. here is a pick of my new axe.

    Anyone just learning slide guitar?
Today was my first day. I picked up 3 slides, books and DVDs awhile back, but, I just never made the time. Deep down, I thought it would be to difficult. Now, I think I am ready to get serious. I even have a dedicated  guitar. Today  I played around with open G, open E, drop D and standard tuning and worked on muting strings I am still not sure which finger I will end up using for the slide, but I am guessing  there’s really only three choices.Bonnie Raitt uses her second, Duane Allman used his ring, but most Like Rick Vito seem to favor their pinky.

This is something I have wanted to try since seeing Bonnie Raitt play a few years ago.

    Hey @Triple-o

I use my pinky finger it lets me free up my other fingers to still make chords. I would try what feels more comfortable for you.

    good luck

Hello @Texaspackerfan sorry I have only just seen you post, I have been ill with a virus which my husband unfortunately caught it and with him being on chemotherapy he ended up in hospital with a chest infection causing neutropenic sepsis. He is now home and on the slow road to recovery.

You have not let anyone down, these things happen and we were/are all concerned for you! We are your guitar family and we care about you.

The clean up operation and re-decoration of a home following a fire is a long drawn out process and smoke gets everywhere. I had to clean some rooms up after a fire at my workplace some years ago, so I have some inkling of what you are dealing with. But a fire in your own home is a different matter, I could go home to a normal life but you have to deal with it when you get home. That is an entirely different thing and it really disrupts your life.

I am glad to hear that you are getting your studio back up together and I hope that you have been able to find time to play your guitar.

@Nutty 1 im so sorry for your husbands medical problems. a fire is one thing but medical is its own  league I wish your husband well and a quick recovery. my prayers or with you.

Sorry I've been away awhile. We had a huge flood in our area, and for the first time ever, our basement took on A LOT of water. Completely wiped out my home studio. Some of my gear survived, some didn't. Guitars and my amp are okay. Will be years before I can redo the basement, as our home owners didn't cover the cost of the cleanup. Pumping out over 1000 gallons of water out of a basement, removing all carpeting, cutting out most walls and spraying for mold costs a lot. I had no idea.

Thinking about going back to all digital, as I have no space to record analog the way I'd like to, and some of my recording gear was damaged anyway. Super bummed, but no one was hurt, and I'll rebuild with time. Hopefully soon, I can get my channel up again.

I feel your pain. Im sorry this happen to you, and im glad you are ok. Im still cleaning up after my fire. but thankfully we are still here. My new appliances should arrive in a week and i can get back to a home cooked meal. these hungry man dinners are awful!

  6. thank you so much @NeilES335 I wiped down the computer and guitars and it seems I got really lucky. my neighbor invinted me to play and I told him I don't think my mind was in to playing but I soon realized it was the best release I could have ask for. I should say I have been trembling this whole time until I grab the guitar and started playing. what a release !!you start to evaluate life when things like this happen, the guitar has been my life with the help of god!!! he saved me. I'm just glad I have this guitar family I can talk to. thank you neil and @Steve Krenz

The vocals are up as well as a 2nd reference track with the previous mix. I kept the vocals pretty dry with a little compression. Danny, can you add some reverb and delay to the vocal track or would you like me to? I usually pick a nice mix out of Nectar 2 for a vocal track but didn't for this. I thought since you were mixing it would be best for your to enhance the tracks. Mandy, this is a sad, sad song...my wife said to let you know it was totally fictitious.Sad chords, sad song.

@gotto If you have a stetting you prefer please send that as well. I love Muti options and it helps to have a lot of layers.
