  1. Thank you @Texaspackerfan and @Jusca. Sorry about the mistake with the rhythm guitar part, thank you for bringing it to my attention Danny (it was only 3s long, whoops!😬) I have now replaced it. GG4 Rhythm

  4. Hello All, In the absence of a rhythm track from @guitarben and the fact that guitarben was not able to set up this months Recording Challenge I am assuming that guitarben is indisposed and we should continue this Collaboration without him. guitarben, I hope you and your family are ok. As time is moving on I have done a simple rhythm track @Texaspackerfan this is using the "Brit and Clean" guitar amp simulator in stereo. Do you want left and right rhythm tracks using this recording but with different amp simulations or can you do that in your software with the audio file above? If you want to use the Box.com folder for your mixes then please send me your email address in a private message and I will get Box to give you editor permission.
  5. Hello Everyone, in the absence of Unclehammy and @guitarben I am posting the new challenge. Just for quickness, as we have already lost over a week I have chosen the theme. Here are the tracks: 1) mark_h playing "Wave" byο»Ώ Antο»Ώoο»Ώnio Carlos Jobim.ο»Ώο»Ώο»Ώο»Ώο»Ώ 2) Wim VD1 playing "Leyla" 3) Nutty 1 playing "Nights in White Satin" 4) Watson43 playing "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" 5)Texaspackerfan playing "Mamma Tried"
  6. Thank you Neil, great lessons.πŸ‘πŸŽΈπŸ˜Ž
  7. 🎀Does anyone fancy doing the songwriting and/or vocals. 🎼If no one volunteers then you will be stuck with me doing it and you know what that means. πŸ€£πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ
  8. Thank you Danny, I have a sent @guitarben a pm saying that we can simplify the chord progression as I don't think he reads this thread. guitarben had said in a pm that he was going to do it bank holiday weekend, maybe his plans changed.
  9. Absolutely amazing Karl! She is beautiful.πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ
  10. @Mustafa I use the guitar as therapy. Whenever I am angry or feeling rebellious or frustrated I play music that suits my mood like "Born to be Wild" or if I am sad I play a sad song. It helps and afterwards I feel better. Have you ever heard a song by Billy Joel called "Baby Grand" it is about how his piano is always there for him. I think guitar is like that. Perhaps we should write a song about guitar like that.πŸ™‚
  11. If you look down the neck, do any of the frets after the 13th fret look higher? If one does then a gentle tap with a small hammer may get it down enough (be sure to support the neck and guitar well if you are going to do this and start with a very gentle tap). Alternatively check if your saddle is too low, if it is then you could either buy another saddle or put a shim on the bottom of the saddle.
  12. @Mustafa I am so very sorry to hear of the trouble and pain in your life. I can not even imagine what you are going through. I will add my advice to the already excellent advice given by Neil and Diane above. Music can heal people. It can bring joy to others as well as yourself. You should play your guitar again and seek out other musicians who live close to you and play your guitar with them. Maybe even form a group. People need your music. You need it too. It will help you. It might even show you the way. Additionally your music teacher cared about you and wanted you to play the guitar so you should continue playing in the memory of your teacher. You are your teacher's legacy! Keep in touch with us Mustafa, music unites us all. Best wishes Mandy
  13. Hello @guitarben how is the rhythm guitar going? Do you need anything?
  14. Great job Ian, well played and sang. I never understood that song until your post. It is a weird song!
  15. 😁 I doubt that anyone would have noticed. A lot of people simplify songs by not playing 7s. On a keyboard the chord would be formed by adding in the 7th note (C) to the Dm making it a four fingered chord.
  16. Thank you @Texaspackerfan Danny, I will put you down for both!
  17. Thank you for your good wishes Jusca. I have just been referred to an orthopaedic surgeon for the trigger finger. I think I will sneakily ask their advice about the osteoarthritis also!
  18. Lovely Danny! πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ I hope your cold gets better soon.🌞
  19. Beautiful Kevin, well played and sang, very smooth.πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ˜Ž
  20. @guitarben great!😎 1) Yes, the strumming pattern is up to you as long as it works with the drums. 2) The chord progression in this arrangement is 1 chord per bar and this (together with the song structure) is the "map" of the song. This will also be used by the Bass Guitarist and Lead Guitarist to help them to determine what notes to play. πŸ€”However since we are at the first guitar recording stage you can make changes as long as you stick to the key of G (or it makes things harder for the Lead Guitarist) and that it still conforms to the song structure above. You can have multiple chords per bar if you want, if you do make changes can you provide me with the chord progression that you have played please? This will than be our new "map".🎸
  21. To get things moving I have produced a drum track using the automatic drummer in Logic, I have made adjustments to it but kept it simple. GG4 Drums The track starts with a 1 bar metronome "count in" which we will use to align all of the tracks. So if all participants could put this at the start of their recordings it will help me to align up the tracks. The drums then start for 1 bar and then it follows the song plan above (so we have 1 bar of metronome and then 1 bar of drums) and then the guitar part can start on bar 3. OK @guitarben over to you. Please let me know if you need any help, you can contact me by this thread or via the messaging system.
