Learning and playing guitar has become a true passion and learning songs is for me the real goal. It's such a great feeling when after hours and hours of practice, you finally get the feeling to "own" a song.
What I have learned as well over the years is to trust the process. I was not good at playing fingerstyle when I started the fingerstyle course back in december last year, and it looked like a huge mountain to climb. But @Steve Krenz Steve's courses are so well made to gradually and steadily grow your skills. I am now confident that if I do the fingerstyle exercises, e.g. the Giuliani drills, for a couple of weeks, it will affect my playing and enable me to finally tackle those difficult moves in some classic Spanish song, that looked daunting in the beginning.
This trust in the process helps me each time to overcome my initial frustration when learning something new.
So yes, it's about practice, patience and persistence, but these would be useless without a great teacher like Steve with a great method.
