  1. David Gilmour’s black strat was retired in 1986. It was on display at a Hard Rock Cafe in Dallas Tx. It was unprotected and apparently anyone could access it. When he got it back in 1990 it was damaged and the only original part was the pickup selector switch. When I read that I was rather shocked. It would have become a million dollar guitar. I was also surprised his net worth was only $ 180,000,000.

  2. I'm thinking also of those carbon fiber McPherson guitars - they don't sound half bad either. Something we will all have to come to grips with at some point as the traditional tone woods become harder and harder to source. And of course, the guitarist in the video is quite talented - proving what Steve has always told us that the tone is in our fingers.

  3. @Plantsman13 if memory serves me correctly; Ovation Guitars have had a bowled back of fibre glass, which intensive purposes is plastic and they have a huge following. ps, I’ve seen whole solid body electric made of clear plastic resin as well
