  3. Hello there, I am looking to buy an electric guitar and headphones so i can practice without disturbing others at night. The dude from the guitarstore recommended me the Fender Standard Telecaster. Who has played that guitar and what do you think about it? Here is the link... https://www.keymusic.com/be/item/fender-standard-telecaster-butterscotch-blonde-maple/ Is it a good guitar to use during the learn and master course? thanks everybody
  4. thanks everyone, that was really helpful. It will be great to practice without disturbing others thanks
  5. hello everybody, i have this question, I am almost ready to go to session 5 but i have never strummed with a plectrum because i can only practice at night or early in the morning when my little daughter is sleeping. So it is almost impossible to practice strumming patterns and learn to hit the bass note accurate on my acoustic guitar because it is way to loud Did anyone have had this problem and what was your solution??? I am thinking about buying an electric guitar and learn to strum unplugged because that doesn't make that noise. If anyone have other tips to share i would like to hear them. Thanks anyway, greetings from Belgium
  6. This saturday i bought a new guitar, I went to the shop to play the drs1 from martin but i ended up buying a blueridge br40. OMG, what a guitar for almost half the price of the martin so i am very pleased. Nice deep bass, plays like butter, good resonance and she reacts very fast. She has a sitka spruce top so its a little brighter then the sapele top from the martin Drs1 and laminated back and sides from mahogany. I went out for a solid back and side but that blueridge played soooo damn good... I knew just a little about that brand and i thought that for that price only seagull has great guitars but to anyone who wanna buy a new guitar for +- 500 dollars, check out a blueridge!!! greetings
  7. hey tim, thanks for the link, i gonna look at it when i have time. lol, an 8th string with moving frets
  8. that new version has a lot of other songs then those that you mentioned . And with the sharps and flats i can choose some other songs, i think i will go for i shot the sheriff first And i am glad that there is at least 1 other student in session 4, so keep me posted about your progress at well. I've practiced the sharp and flats a bit today and it was confusing at first but like every new part i am going to get used to it. I can play fur elise already greetings and have a lot of practice fun
  9. hey, i know this guitar but it is too expencive, maybe when i am a pro (lol). I like the 0017-americana from martin. But my wallet wouldn't allow me to buy one so i was thinking at a price from around 1000 euro... Thanks for the tip anyway grtz
  10. Hey, Mantonanjin, I am looking at all the options, from dreadnought to parlor to fingerpick with so i can search them on youtube or play in stores before buying one. It purpose is to play delta blues but also for the L&M fingerpicking course that i will follow in the future. Thats why i keep all the options open. When it was only for delta blues i would look at all mahogany or sapele but it will be for folk and other stuff too. I think the most important part is that it has a very quick respons. Thanks for helping
  11. Hey Folks, Who owns or plays on a parlor or knows a good parlor guitar? Any tips? I am still searching for a good fingerstyle guitar greetings
  12. Really love this song, smooth psychedelic coolness!!! my favorite crossroads song
  13. thanks matonanjin, @guitarben i will keep you posted. It's cool that you are also following session 4 at this moment I will at least practice sharp and flats and the whole session four until end februari. i will see from there if i gonna move on to session 5 in march or stay a few more weeks. Ps, what songs are you practicing in the easy pop melodies? I like to play dust in the wind and stand by me but now i can choose a couple of songs with sharp and flats too. greetings
  14. hello folks, something amazing happened to me today. I have practiced session 4 (except sharp and flats) over and over and part of my warming up is the octave exercise. In the beginning i had to say the notes in my head, ee-ff-gg-aa... and i could do this exercise at 50bpm but part of my mind slowed me down because of that counting in my head. Than the first part (ascending) went naturaly without saying the notes but the descending part still slowed me down because i had to say the notes. Now my fingers know where they have to go (ascending and descending) and i tried to do the exercise while watching tv and without saying the notes.I speed up the metronome and suddenly I can do the octave exercise alternating 3-4 times in a row without stopping or mistakes at 80bpm! This really is a proof what muscle memorie can do I am very happy with this and i gonna watch the session 4 dvd completely today so i can start with the sharp and flats. greetings from belgium
  15. blue dog, thanks for sharing and the encouragement
  16. greg Mills, i know what you mean I have played the s6 once and that was truly a wonderfull guitar, it was so easy to play...but there was only a little bass compared to other guitars. but when i will start fingerpicking i seriously consider buying a seagull folk with soldid wood (SWS series) or a artist mosaic folk if my wallet allows me to greetings
  17. thanks for the replies greg mills, six string and blue dog. @blue dog:the drs1 and drs2 have both 1 3/4 width at nut so thats for fingerpicking too. but thanks for the tip, what are the 2 guitars you have?
  18. Hello folks, Does anyone have experience with the Martin Drs1? Is it a good overall acoustic? I want to upgrade from the guitar that i have now (Tanglewood TW45 DLX) and i think the Drs1 will be my next guitar, i am saving the money for it for the moment so if anybody have played that guitar, let me know what you think about it please Any other tips or recommendations are more then welcome. I want to buy a good acoustic overall guitar for around 1000 Euros to follow the whole learn and master course with... Thanks and greetings from Belgium
