  2. I'm starting session and I'm working on getting my Guitar Pro files setup. I noticed that on the Treble Cleft that the Key Signature is marked as F#, where I've always seen one # on the Treble Cleft naming it as G. Why does the book mark it as F#? Is it because all F notes are actually played as F#?
  3. I've had locking tuners on a previous guitar, and am putting them on my current guitar. It's just less tedious to change the strings out, and I've noticed that the rotation tends to be better than stock tuners. Both guitars are Epiphone's though.
  4. I'm spending another week in Session 3 to get more comfortable with the new string. I created a Guitar Pro file that contains all of the exercises from the lesson book and bonus into one file other than the songs. All 3/4 timing songs are at the end, so there isn't confusing of swapping between time signatures. Session 3 - Exercises.gp
  5. I remember seeing the Fretlight guitars. I thought they were cool initially, but then I figured that I'd end up looking more at my fingers when playing more than anything else. So, I just stayed away from that one. Nice to see another Guitar Pro user on here. I also have Presonus Progression (pre-version of Notion) that I can use with my Tripleplay on guitar to record midi into my computer. So, I can see how I'm playing and also record music notation with just playing the guitar rather than having to manually insert notes. That's one feature I wish GP would put into it's software.

    Why Do You Play?

I started playing, because one of the teens in my youth group wanted to learn to play. So, we started having a portion of time set aside for everyone to pick up an instrument to learn it. We had guitar, bass, keyboard and drums. One of the teens plays for a worship and praise team now doing bass. I'm still progressing and learning. Rocksmith and Bandfuse allowed me to learn in an interactive way, and helped to make it fun for the teens. Now I'm learning with L&M Guitar to help learn how to read sheet music and more fundamentals. I play now, because I just enjoy playing the guitar. I might play with the worship team at times on Bass, and a little guitar. For the most part, I keep to playing at home for the enjoyment of it.
  7. Yeah, I can see the comment area now as well.
  8. I'm still not seeing the ability to comment, but I do see Steve's comment. I recorded a video so, you can see what I see.
  9. Is there an area on there to submit a "bug". I read Steve's article about Why people play, and at the end he said to comment on below on why you play. The option to comment it disabled. I'm not sure if it's an issue with the article having comments disabled, or if Articles by default aren't allowed to have comments.
  10. Here are the Guitar Pro 7 files for Session 3. I put the note names as lyrics so they're easy to turn off. Session 3 - 1 - Eighth Note Exercises.gp Session 3 - 2 - Third String Exercises.gp Session 3 - 3 - Fourth String Exercises.gp Session 3 - 4 - Yankee Doodle.gp Session 3 - 5 - When The Saints Go Marching In.gp Session 3 - 6 - Love Me Tender.gp Session 3 Bonus - 1 - Third String Exercises.gp Session 3 Bonus - 2 - Fourth String Exercises.gp Session 3 Bonus - 3 - Ties Dots and Rests Exercises.gp Session 3 Bonus - Amazing Grace.gp Session 3 Bonus - We Wish You A Merry Christmas.gp
  11. @NeilES335 Thank you for the info. I started off playing guitar using Rocksmith (original version (2012) and updated to use the 2014 version. I also have Bandfuse as well. Bandfuse helped with learning to sight read tab to a degree. Some Chord tabs are hard to read depending on the speed of the song. So, I've been playing guitar albeit choppy for a little while now. I'm going through the L&M guitar course primarily to help better learn fundamentals and reading of sheet music. I just finished Session 2 today and am going to start on session 3. I have a Google Calendar setup for myself to help me keep track of my progress. I'm a little familiar with the Circle of Fifths already, since I've designed a CMS for my Church that allows transposing of Chords and song signature Keys. The Circle of Fifths came in handy when we had to transpose songs down for the singers. I just have some holes in areas, so I'm looking for the L&M course to help fill some of those holes. Then once I'm done with the course maybe dive deeper into a music theory course.
  12. @NeilES335 At what lesson would the Circle of Fifths apply to?
  13. Here are the Guitar Pro Files for Session 2 the Bonus Workshop. Session 2 - 1 - First String Exercises.gp Session 2 - 2 - Second String Exercises.gp Session 2 - 3 - First and Second String Exercises.gp Session 2 - London Bridge Is Falling Down.gpx Session 2 - Skip To My Lou.gpx
  14. Thank you for the verification @Steve Krenz As I go through the course, I'll upload .gpx files for each session. Here are the Guitar Pro Files for Session 2. I uploaded the Guitar Pro Files for Session 1 under that lesson. Session 2 - 1 - First String Exercises.gpx Session 2 - 2 - Second String Exercises.gpx Session 2 - 3 - First and Second String Exercises.gpx Session 2 - 4 - Ode To Joy.gpx Session 2 - 5 - Jingle Bells.gpx
  15. Here are the exercises for Session 1 in a Guitar Pro 6 format to play along with. Total time to play along with these files is 15 minutes. Bonus Workshop for Session 1 is 22 minutes. Session 1 - 1 - Finger Exercises.gpx Session 1 - 2 - G7 C.gpx Session 1 - 1B - Finger Exercises.gpx
  16. Where can I find any pages that have corrections? Looking at my physical Lesson Book along with the downloaded lesson book shows wrong/missing tab notes for the First and Second String Exercises on Page 12 Example 3.
  17. I'm not uploading the files until further response from Steve. I purposely asked first prior to uploading to make sure it's okay. I don't doubt that the DVDs work or that reading music notation itself works better over tabs. I go through the DVD lessons with the Bonus Content the first 2-3 times, but then afterwards I like using GuitarPro files. For me it's more streamlined to use the gp files I made to go through the lessons. I can choose to just have notation on or use notation and tabs or just tabs. For me it's really just liking to have all the lessons back to back in order to play each part of the lesson in a row. It also makes it where my wife can then watch TV, and I can do the lessons on my computer, since newer laptops don't include DVD players anymore. Speaking of music notation, I just learned that % means to repeat the previous bar of music and %% means to repeat the 2 previous bars of music. Guitar Pro offers a free song each day to learn and yesterday had Counting Crows - Mister Jones which used that notation. First time I had encountered it, but found it useful.
  18. Is it okay to upload a gpx file of the lessons here for others to use? I find for me that it's helpful to use GuitarPro to play along with, since the tempo is more consistent than watching the video. I have the Lesson Content and Bonus Workshop in 2 separate files with all of the exercises and songs put in with 2 measures separating each exercise.
