Even Release

I was looking at Eric Clapton’s version of “Malted Milk” by Robert Johnson and the notation had a series of bends and releases marked  “even release”. I haven’t come across that term before.I guess it said “even release” because there were 3 half bends in secession and I am assuming it just means you just keep tension on the string and pull down evenly for each bend.
