As I have the pleasure to select the theme, I would like to kick off this month's recording challenge with a fingerstyle arrangement of Mission Impossible. Another one from the Song Hits.

Very nice @mark_h I have a Tonewood amp also. They are really cool to play with.
Thanks Steve. I’m looking forward to playing around with it when I feel a bit better. But I already like how easy it is to use.

Congratulations that’s a super buy. Looks fantastic too. ?

My wife and I have both been ill this month and the weather here has been nonstop rain and storms so the internet has been down more often then up. I didn’t intend to submit anything this month but my tonewoodamp arrived and I thought I’d just record my first play with it. Apologies for my unkempt appearance I was just out of my sick bed. ? i normally play the changes into a looper and then play the melody over the top but I couldn’t find the energy to connect the looper. Sorry. Then tonewoodamp was used as an effects pedal and a di, just a 1/4 inch cable to the apogee and recorded to camera on the iPad.

I learned and recorded Baby Elephant Walk about one year ago when I was in Session 13. It's a song from the L&M Song Hits course.

I am still battling with my osteoarthritis and trigger finger. They are still slowing me down but I am never going to give up!
Here is a 1 take version of "The house of the rising Sun" exactly as I played it in all its slowness.
Great job Mandy! It may be slightly slow but it’s all there. ? I hope your hands are better soon, that sounds so frustrating .

Here's my contribution for this month. The song is 'Angel' by Sarah McLachlan. I recorded a single, live take direct to mp3 via a Zoom H2n recorder that was standing on the desk in front of me. I then uploaded it into Logic Pro and tweaked the gain and EQ and added bit of reverb and compression. (p.s. when I say 'single, live take' it was by no means the first :-) )
Ian
Fantastic cover Ian. Great acoustic vibe. ????

@mark_h Your promo vid is really nice. As far as I’m concerned you played smoothly. Non-rigid timing gives it more feeling. Bum notes? What bum notes? You meant to play what you did, that’s it!
? of course I did. Thanks Gerard.

Some weeks ago, I recorded an accoustic version of Misty. So I thought this would fit here as well.
Wim, that’s something to be proud of! Very nice playing.

Currently, my recording facilities are not favourable and I’m still focusing on practicing jazz etudes, but since the theme is fitting I thought I’d use my old recordings. This is really old stuff. I recorded those almost 5 years ago for a couple of initial monthly challenges. It’s kind of funny for me to listen to these amateurish attempts today. I really should take some time to rerecord them to find out if I’m still dying of laughter listening to them.
“Blowing In The Wind”
Bonus track “Yesterday” should probably stay home.
It’s great to have recordings to go back to, it highlights your progress so well. Having said that there is nothing wrong with the playing in these. Yesterday sounded really close to the original. Well done.

So impressive Mark. great performance in a beautiful setting. Hope it brings many prospective couples to request your talents. Really talent players as yourself make things look so natural and flowing, in contrast to my flailing fingers. Something to aspire to for all of us.
Greg
Thanks so much Greg, you are very kind. You are also too modest, your fingers are far from flailing. ???

I hope this month Has as many contributors as last month, what a great turnout! Thanks for taking the time to keep it going uncle hammy and thanks for this months challenge Watson43.
I Hope this is ok.. it’s an electro-nylon played through a Roland mobile AC amp. The audio was recorded live outdoors, direct to the mics of a Zoom H4n. The loop was created live on a boss RC3. It’s a little promo vid I made for my wedding services. It was recorded in my garden a couple of weeks ago.
There are lots of timing mistakes, bum notes, and I even wandered off at one point. But you don’t have to be perfect for people to enjoy what you do. ??? Mark

And what you should do UncleHammy is have one of the mods close the Monthly Challenge each month so people can't post late . But I have been meaning to contribute something for a long time.
Day Tripper by the Beatles. This is definitely "The Old". The band that I played in that I posted the picture of played this. So it really took me back. The "New" is I have been trying to learn this for decades (or what seems like). Started working this in The Song Hits. Steve, of course, gave me the basics, the riff and the rhythm. Then I found a couple of sources for the bridge and solo. The backing track is from Karaoke Version.
It is not where I would like it. But I came in from the barn, hence the clothes, and recorded it and I'm moving on. Probably to "Oh, Pretty Woman".
The B chord (going from the C# to the B) in the chorus didn't ring clearly. I missed at least one note in the solo and towards the end I really got behind the beat. But here it is. Warts and all.
Played with the new PRS, into a POD HD500X (with overdrive and a little chorus) into Fender Blues Jr. The backing track is played on the Boss Eband JS-10.
Super job Matonanjin! I reckon only you noticed any flubs. ?? Mark

Well this isn't the song that I planned to post this month but I am running out of time and when I tried to record that song today it is nowhere near ready. So I decided to post this instead.
This was me playing in the student showcase at the 2016 Guitar Gathering. Steve gave me a very long intro including a plug for this thread. I actually start playing about, 4:30.
Paul Opitz (@Opie) recorded and posted it. I hope everyone can open the link.
The audio isn't great and I made a flub, but I really wanted to get something posted this month. Hope you enjoy it.
Great to see and hear you UHammy. Thanks again for running this monthly challenge it’s a great idea and gives everyone a push to perform for others. Mark

I finally got to record me Peavey Classic 30. Here is a couple samples from my Sound Check.
The first is just a simple rock rhythm I came up with last night. Maybe someday it will be a song, but for now it is what it is...
The second track adds the Flashback Delay pedal. I am just improvising for the fun of it!!!
Great tone Randy! That’s a very fine piece of kit, Congratulations. Mark
