  1. I couple of weeks into session 4. I'm doing it in chunks like it was recommended by others. It's easier that way imo. I went into using metronomy for exercises couple of days ago and it's going smoothly. I have a feeling I will start doing sharps and flats in cuple of days and that it will be smooth sailing to session 5 from here. Another update will be posted before finishing . Peace
  2. I have question about bonus exercises. Should we put same standard of speed as for lessons from main program? I mean for these Arpeggio like exercises and more complex ones. I assumed target speed is 60 bpm but clarification would be welcme.
  3. Thank You for postig this here.. I will have to implement in into my routine couple of times a week for sure. When I saw tutorial for Mr. Sandman by Chet Atkins I saw this big stretch where your middle finger stays on 5th freet and yor indes has to reach 2nd freet.. I'm sure these will help. Cheers
  4. Ah Thak you for a fast response... I got used to down-up picking by doing workouts from session 2 quite a lot. It's good to have some more context for the session going forward. Big thanks and Regards G12
  5. Hello Friends I started session 3 today after fulfilling requirements for session 2 and I have question for eight note exercises.. Do I use down-up motion only when I play them on the same strinng?? I rewatched session and Steve is inconsistent with playing eights on different strings and even same strings sometimes. DO I use down-up motion for all eights o just ones in the same pitch like it's stated in lesson book?? Thank you G12
  6. I started course in 2014 and keept at it for a couple of months. Reached beginning of session 5 and stopped playing since moving to college. I had a room for it but didn't want my instrument around wasted students that would suddenly realise they are skilled guitarist when they spot it . ;D I was 19 at the time. I started playing again couple of weeks ago and I plan to stick with the course. I really took daily practice to heart since I really disregardd that bit when i was younger. I would try to cram 3 hours a day one day a week. I would rush thru the exercises wrong and be sloppy with execution and without paying attention to the accuracy. I can see difference very clearly when i compare my current progress to one I had in the past. I guess only downside is my sister complaining i "constantly play the same thing " whe I do my daily routine o session 2. cheers g12
  7. I'm only going off what i heard from recordings but I have two picks that will add some variety to what we have there. One is BSG guitars made in Czech Republic they sound beautiful I was told their OM model made out of wallnut is to die for. Other is Lakewood guitars from Germany I love their clean and crisp sound. WOuld love to have one when i get to fingerpicking.
  8. I have one guitar at the moment. Acoustic Epiphone AJ-220S I have to admit I keep eyeying some amazing acoustics from small workshops I fell in love with. Like BSG or Furch guitars made in Czech Republic or Lakewood from Germany. I also had fallen in love with Acoustics made by Mr. Rafał Turkowiak from here in Poland. Luckily or not I can't afford them (yet) and I would stop myself until I reached reasonable skill level to own them ;d
  9. @Adam429 Great! Most important thing is to be persistent. I could play at faster bmp but decided to stay at slower speeds for a while to get those finger movements deep into my muscle memory and to make them precise. LM is such a a good program to start since you have this methodical step by step approach approach that will prevent you from overthingking and just get down and practice. From looking around youtube and some other sites out of curiosity most of them offer so much content so soon that people get paralysis by analysis. It was just couple of weeks of consistent practice for me at this point and I can seee my progress. Only trouble I get are some exercises at Low E string but it will come with time. And I'm happy to share any helpful resources I find.
  10. Hi fellow learners. I gave Learn and Master guitar a second go After years of inactivity caused by going away to college and not trusting my roomates with instrument around. On My last go I started session 5 but this time I'm doing it properly. Daily prctices and following Steve's advice to the letter ( correct bpm, daily exercises and stretchers). Currently I'm on my 10 th day of second session and I can play every exercise on 60 pbm with only ocasional mistakes. Along with LM course I also use Justinguitar.com to complement it and using book called. The Principles of Correct Guitar Practice since I heard ir recommended countless times.. I hope I will be able to persist to the end this time around. Cheers
