  1. @matonanjin Several members of the old L&M Guitar forum used Jamkazam in the past. Maybe one of them will chime in on the subject. Yes slow internet could be an issue, but you don't know until you try. You can also try running a speed test like this: https://www.speedtest.net/ which will give you an idea if the speed is enough. If you can use a streaming service like Netflix then you can probably Skype and maybe Jamkazam.

  2. I spent last night jamming with my friend over the internet. We had fun for almost 2 hours.

If you have a computer with a camera, and a distant friend to jam with then Skype might be the answer. It is pretty easy to use once it is installed on both computers. You can chat, call, and video call. I use it for chat and video call which is free and you just need the friends e-mail address to connect.

  3. I added this small 8” 20w cab to my Orange Crush Mini. Man it is amazing the big sound you get from 3 watts. I only use the volume and gain at the halfway point which is very loud. The Crush isn’t exactly a head so it doesn’t fit nicely on top. I would have liked a 12” speaker, but this is the cheapest cab I can find. The Fender cab has a 12”, but it is twice the price of the Orange.

  4. @DianeB Splash! LOL! I bet you play much better than you think. You also have better theory knowledge than most of the people in the forum.

I had very basic goals when I started, but I was determined. I practice and play often. I have exceeded all of my original goals, and I am still learning all the time. Am I perfect? No, but perfection is not required.

  5. I played with the Orange Crush Mini for 1 hour a day over the last few weeks. The single 9v battery lasted almost 3 weeks before I noticed the built-in tuner would not recognize my low E string. Then the volume started to drop off noticeably. I plugged the amp in for the first time and the volume came roaring back.

I played with several effects pedals, and the little Orange was better than expected. The small speaker breaks up easily when you play hard, but playing with a lighter touch cleans it up nicely. Of course the amp also has a mean distorted sound. I definitely plan to add a speaker cabinet in the future.

  6. Why not? It's your style. If it feels comfortable then why not? Can you strum easily in that position? People have played that way for a long time. Have you ever tried one of those foot rests, or the stand for your leg?

I say go for it if it works for you. It would be interesting to see what Steve Krenz thinks.
