About Me
I've been involved with music most of my life. Piano was the first instrument I learned followed by flute, piccolo, and recorder. My degree is in Music Education where we had to learn to play all the instruments in a symphonic band and an orchestra. Surprisingly one of my professors wasn't too happy when I asked why they didn't teach guitar. Times sure have changed!
I purchased my first guitar around 7th grade but didn't get much farther than learning basic open chords--and I certainly wasn't good with playing them. Fast forward to adulthood...I sold that guitar at a yard sale. Several years later I purchased an acoustic/electric. I sought out a private teacher who majored in guitar. I hoped I would finally be able to play! Not only was I very rusty with the open chords, he was having me try barre chords by my 4th lesson. Well, that didn't fly so I went in search of alternate ways to learn.
Eventually I came across Steve's excellent course. He has an amazing ability to teach along with a great deal of motivation and encouragement.
My preference for music includes classical, Christian, instrumental, pop, disco (yes, I admit I LOVE disco) as well as fingerstyle and classical guitar.
