  1. Hi Mark. I have Bone saddles and Tusq saddles. Both work great. But the bone saddles are on the bright Side as the tusq saddles are a little Darker tone . I like the tusq saddles better for the deeper richer tone . But i dont change them unless they are plastic. If the guitar is to dark then use bone to brighten it up , If bright use tusq to deepen the tone . That's all i have.

  2. The deuce

I use a mic from best buy works great plugs into UBS port . does not have to be close to you . just set it away  from you to the sound level is right . or go into the computer to set the record level of the mic . just use your computer or laptop . This is the one i use . but there are cheaper ones.  Good luck.

  4. How many practice simple songs like the ones in Lessons 2 to lesson 4 in the work book . when they learn the pentatonic scales and play them songs all over the fret board . I find this great to do . most of the time the pattern stays the same. helps to learn the notes. I even try to jump positions during the song. You can usely play a song in one pentatonic position  in two places.  Just asking.

  5. I will take a shot . the song is in the key of A . B is the key center. That makes the song in A Mixolydian Mode. Which is B. A7 chord matches The B note Better then The A Chord . But you can not change the Key to B. Because all the notes would have to be changed. and it would be B mixolydian Mode. Which is C. B Mixolydian mode Sounds better over the A7 Chord.and there is no A7 Note on the guitar. Just a A7 chord. Thats my Guess.

  6. Every since i seen this Martin Guitar , The DC Aura GT I wanted on To do the Finger style Course with . But it took me a long time to get to the finger style part of the course. Last year I made it and went looking for this guitar, I knew it was a limited edition. But they had them for years . So i didn't think they would be sold out. So i did a net  search and there was none to be found at all the popular stores . After a bout a week i found two new ones . One in Asia and one at N Stuff Music. They had one that they had and could not sell. But it was for sell no body has called about are ask about . So I  got it . I love this guitar.  The looks of the skeleton  tuners that is geared to each string, the wide neck. Cut away. Great guitar . But Lucky  that i found the last new one in the US. But the point to the story is The video that sold me on the guitar the the same video of the guitar at NStuff Music. So Here is the Guitar Being Demo. at NStuff Music.

  7. The way i record songs is, I mic the song to my computer recording  then download to my DAW . The 212 i dont use because of the lag Between the backing track and the headphones. I play the backing track on another amp and record the guitar on another amp at the same time . set mic in middle between both and adjust as needed. when recorded song is good then download to DAW to add reverb or other patches. I need the newer 212 that has lower Lag. But it takes to long to set up and you have to change drivers. you need a dedicated computer for the job. a cheap lap top from the pawn shop works good. or a old computer that not used on more. Then you can set it up and forget it.  But when recording using the computer recorder you have to go to the sound center and adjust the mic to sound levels . i had mine set then one day i had to change it for my daughter to do something and that was the end of my recording stuff because i have not wanted to go back and adjust it again. to where the amp can be loud but the recording is not. because you can fix that in the DAW . but you can not fix loud  noises. and make then soft.  My two cents

  8. The Augmented 4th  known as the ( Devils Note ) was banned from church music . It's sound was hard to sing to and was thought to lead to lewd Behavior. It was a ugly note to use in Church. But later reused by Jazz players and called the Flattened Fifth. Mostly used to day as the note used in sirens. So when you hear that sound when you get pulled over. and feel uneasy thats why. They hit a nerve.

@Blue Dog  thanks for this lesson and for the backing track.  But this begs the question when studying it.  Is the "Two Chord Tennessee Whiskey" easier after two Tennessee Whiskeys?  Or made more difficult after those?  ??   (Not that I do that anymore.)

I dont know . But I think after two whiskey shots you can play anything. More then that and you can sing anything. More then that you are ready for stardom. ( Not that i do that anymore ) ;)

  10. I read up on both amps . They sound good . Alright reviews. The only thing that i didnt like is the small speakers . i have bought amps with small speakers . and the sound suffers bad. i have a rule never buy a amp that has under 12 inch speakers.  The boss Katana 50 watt is a great amp. i have one . All i need for a amp . Good luck and choosing one . Let us now what you find.
