About Me
Played guitar a little while in college, then my Sunburst Gibson J45 sat in a closet for about 30 years. One day I took it down to Guitar Center and was amazed to find out that the guitar I bought for $275 was worth about $4,000! So, since I always wanted to try different styles, I traded even up for a Martin D28, an Epi ES-175 Premium, a Roland Cube 80 with foot pedal bank, and a Les Paul. This gets me acoustic, fat boy jazz acoustic-electric, and electric. Since then, I have acquired a Blueridge BR-70 an Epi ES-339, and an Epi DR500-MCE to round things out (got rid of the Martin after the binding came off).
After working internationally for many years for Bose and JBL I moved to Las Vegas and started taking lessons online. Stuff Active Melody and Jam Play. Now I am going through the Griff Hamlin Blues Unlimited stuff. Started with fingerpicking stuff like Doc Watson and moved on to Blues, still trying to improve at both. I consider myself intermediate but I have never played with anyone so my perception might be off.
Looking forward to my first Guitar Gathering and breaking out of my isolation to play with others. Should be educational and humbling at the same time!
In my daytime life, I own Quality Hearing Aids in Las Vegas, have about 800 active patients and two offices. Bringing people back into communication with loved ones by restoring hearing has made this the most satisfying job of my life.
