About Me
Andy started playing guitar in the late 60s in Columbus, Ohio. He played in his first band in Junior High school. That lasted about 6 months. Later in High school he helped form a band that played a variety of music ranging from David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust to Chicago to Bread.
He then changed bands and played Rhythm Guitar and sang lead & back up playing mostly Top 40 music of the day in Central Ohio in the late 70’s
He transitioned from that band and helped form another group in the early 80’s. Other musical influences back then were the Eagles, Todd Rundgren, Foreigner, Clapton and Santana.
“Retired” from playing to start a career in Real Life and start a family in Southwest Ohio
Started back into music again in 1993, playing for his church’s worship team. Moved on from that to allow the younger folks at his church to start playing. In Mid 2015, he connected with a fellow guitarist and developed an acoustic Classic Rock Duo that plays in and around Southwestern Ohio.
Recently retired from his day job(Jan, 2020), 37 years as a Field Service Engineer in the Healthcare industry, servicing lab equipment in hospitals in a three state area. Now works part-time as a Guitar repair tech at the local Guitar Center and has been teaching beginning and intermediate guitar on Saturdays for the last 11 years.
