The Top Guitar Chords in Any Key
By Steve Krenz in Weekly Live Lessons and Workouts
The PDF of The Top Guitar Chords in Any Key
With all of the thousands of songs out there, you would think that they would use countless different chords. But, actually, most common songs use a pretty limited number of chords.
And, most of those commonly used chords have the same function within whatever key they are in.
The most commonly used chords in any key are the I (one), IV (four), V7(five), and vim (six minor).
Yes, I know there are a lot of other chords possible, but if you could get an average of the chords used in any song you would see that MOST of them are one of these four chords.
So, as a guitarist, it is important and very helpful that we can play these four types of chords in any key.

Using Chord Tones as Seeds for Soloing
By Steve Krenz in Files
This is the PDF for the Live Lesson by Steve Krenz on August 6th 2019. Description: Some may think that improvising is pure creativity - a person creating on a blank canvas - which can be quite intimidating. But, often, it's more like combining creative links to make a chain of ideas. These links or idea "seeds" can be built from the chord tones using some simple techniques that we'll be showing tonight. You can start off by using simple tricks around the chord tones to jump start the creativity. It's a great technique.1,285 downloads

What Good is a Diminished Chord?
By Steve Krenz in Weekly Live Lessons and Workouts
Many players know how major, minor, and dominant seventh chords fit into music because they use them all the time. But, often, they are perplexed at the diminished chord. Unlike major and minor chords, the diminished chord is an unstable chord - meaning that it needs to be resolved to some other chord. It is because of this “need to be resolved” that it is so helpful and can be used in all kinds of musical situations to get from one chord to another.
Learn how to take a bland progression and make it amazing by using a few diminished chords.
